That's awesome.

Take it somewhere else. I've never heard of being failed due to how a door opens.

Question, though -- are you still 'retesting' at the initial inspection place? In other words .. did you take your car in to be inspected at Bob's Shop, and Bob told you that blahblah$1000worthofstuff needs to be fixed before you'll pass? And so you paid Bob $1000, and now he's telling you more needs to be fixed?

If so, the shop might just be tryin' to squeeze more money out of you.

After spending $300 (I think thats the number) on emissions for inspection in PA you pass automatically.

HUH?

I took it to firestone, there were IAT wires cut, and the asshat who had it before me disabled the lightbulb in the dash, so they fixed that stuff for like 300$. I got pulled over once, and the cop was an ass, but i can understand that, i was breaking the law.

I kinda thought it was BS, but I juss dont wanna waiste more money. Ive drove like 30 miles since the CEL went off, hope it dont come back on.

I thought it was only like $150-ish? I've heard that also. That if you spend X amount of money on things that will make your car pass, and show them the reciepts, it automatically passes. Then you just return whatever you bought...

no. cuz if the car leaves the shop and something that YOU supposedly replaced breaks, then the inspector is liable. his signature is on the sticker, so if he does that then hes stupid. but, yea, your car shouldnt fail for the door not lining up. unless its REALLY unsafe. is that all that it failed for? if you feel that the shop is trying to rip you off for stupid ****, or if they fail stuff that doesnt fail, make sure you have it in writing, then threaten to call the state police. if the threat doesnt work then just call them. the shop can get in a lot of trouble for **** like that. its the scumbags that give all mechanics a bad name.

Serious Will.

I think this is a sign from God to sell your DSM. From what I have seen, you have only had trouble with it at every turn. These things are extreme money pits, but everyone must learn it themselves sometimes. I just hate to see you spend more money trying to keep this thing on the road. You are a good guy and don't deserve a car like this.

Bill

thats retarded that they failed it because the door drops a little. if that were the case no GM muscle car would ever pass inspection. the doors on those cars drop like 2 inches.
