i bought one a while back to play while i was laid up after surgery but i sold it shortly after; really regret that!

anyways, i got $550 in best buy gift cards so i was thinking about buying the following:

xbox 360 premium - 400
rainbow six vegas - 60
forza 2 - 60
svideo cable - ??

i also got paid yesterday so i got some money to play with, ill probably get a second control so i can own my girlfriends face as every game. what are some suggestions of really kick ass games to get? i never liked halo but i might pick up halo 2 and pre-order halo 3. my favorite games are racing ( realisityc ones, no need for speed bull**** ) and first person shooters.. GRAW was my favorite game hands down

you shuold also maybe pick up the wireless adapter for xbox live, $100 and maybe a spare controller, $50... and if you have a rewards card. you can get some good savings.

I picked up the xbox 360 premium, the wireless adapter and a controller for like $480 with tax, using the best buy rewards card...

but sorry i just got the 360 like 3 weeks ago and i've only played forza 1, forza 2 and top spin tennis... I also have PGR 3 and Halo2...

any real reason for the wireless adapter? my router is under my TV were my xbox would be so i dont really see the need for a wireless adapter when the cable will only be going like 6 inches lol

Get a second wireless controller. A Play and charger kit, and a extra battery for the second controller.

For games:

Forza 2
R6:V
GRAW2
Gears of War (single player only, online is worthless)
Guitar Hero II
Fight Night Round 3
Shadowrun

Depending on the TV, dont waste money on the s-video cable. Use either the included rca or components if your on a HDTV. If your on a regular tv the s-video isnt gonna give you any better picture. HD is where the xbox shines. If you have a wired router then no reason for the wireless adaptor.

If your gonna pre-order games I might suggest:

Halo3
The Club
Need for Speed: Prostreet
Call of Duty 4
Kane and Lynch
Bioshock
Mass Effect
The Darkness
DiRT

i got to look at my tv when i get home, its hdtv but i dont know anything about cables and stuff. i know when i had xbox before i played in 1080i but i dont remember what cables i had

The only way to run HD off of the 360 is either the included component cables or the VGA. Unless you buy an Elite which has HDMI. You dont need to buy any cables then. The 360 comes with them all minus the VGA one. The first xbox couldnt go 1080i. It was more then likely upconverted which isnt good. The 360 with do 1080i without a problem and the Elite will do 1080p over the HDMI.

make sure you get Xbox Live Gold. because Silver all you can do is download content and the Gold u can play multiplayer which is the main reason to own 90% of 360 games.

from what i read (and I could be wrong) can't teh regular xbox do 1080P? jsut needs to be upgraded? I thought i read that on their site?

when i said i used to have a 360 and ran on 1080i ( maybe p? ) on my tv it was late last year, like a month before i joined the site and got my tiburon

The 360 elite does 1080p right now and that was an upgrade. The older 360's can't do it.
