Finally did my writeup of the BABE Rally

My story is up and ready for the world. I hope all of you find it an enjoyable read. My 2007 BABE rally story, or you can navigate to my site at www.wakemen.com and follow the links to rally then 2007 BABE rally. There is also a link into the gallery page at the bottom.

You can read up about the rally and the some of the stuff we had to do. It was a great trip, and I am looking forward to next year already.

For those with a short attention span, here are some highlights:

Day 1 - Find the signs on the NJ TPK, and I-95 through DE
Day 2 - Elvis Day, costumes and photos. Presidential Limo!
Day 3 - Curvy roads, Gravel, Right Hand Gap, Tail of the Dragon
Day 4 - License Plates, NOLA, 3rd place!
Day 5 - Drive home, battery + jumper cables + hangar = welding
Day 6 - Sunrise and arrive back home

I've now added this to things to do before I die. Was it hard to find a running car for $250?

Yes and no, to find a perfectly running car is nearly impossible, but one that really only needs minor work is achievable. It takes time but eventually we found the Saab that the owner just wanted gone. Craigslist and ebay are where most of the competitors got thier cars. Over at the Street Safari Forum there is a section called "TW's Car Lot" where there were plenty of leads.
