Evo's were pretty much stock, putting down less power than the spec v, not impressed.

That was the dumbest race video ever. "Lets race while there are cars in front of my competition"... duh!!! The first evo let off and the second one was behind a ton of cars, that spec-v didn't beat either legitimatley.
I'm also really beginning to dislike all this racing from a roll stuff... :thumbdow: Of course this is just my two cents.

79Poncho I'm with you on the roll thing. I was never a fan of the roll. Especially when you have traffic in front of you.

I wouldn't consider cams "pretty much stock" though. That's like saying a supercharger is a "bolt on" for an LS1.

Racing from a roll isn't the EVO's strongest point though, which explains why the Spec did so well. I dynoed at 260 or so to the wheels and that was good enough for 12.6x's, so if the Spec is around 275(I forget) it would be a decent car from a roll. Go from a dig and it is an instant 3 car lead for the EVO.

Not that I am taking sides, I'm not. I prefer timeslips.

The second race went a little too long. It wasn’t really necessary to keep pushing it (in traffic.) Once you start to pull on someone (a car length or two) the race is over.

But hey, some of the spec V guys are probably loving this.

Wait… on second thought… the first race wasn’t that safe either (weaving in traffic.) And the guys sounded like they were going to have a baby.

But it does give you some reference on how someone may do against a lightly modded EVO.

***Side Note*** EVOs don’t stay “lightly” modded for too long, however. ;)

racing from rolls just shows whose car is faster. it takes no skill.

We weren't bitching about highway racing, just giving our opinions that we didn't think it was smart and it was dumb to do it with traffic. And I don't see who said that you did it either. And showing whos car is faster would be going from a stop to a certain distance.

AWD isn't a good platform for roll-on type of races. Best example is with similarly modded DSMs. With a 1g, 16g, the awd is hitting 12's easily while the fwd is in the 14's. On the highway that fwd is easily pulling on the awd.

Obviously it's not common. In fact, it may never happen again.

Then the drivers must be bad drivers.
