12 years of Catholic school. That was enough preachin' for me. Then the church sent me information on how much cash I should be donating based on my income.....haven't been there since then.

No way. The only times I step into a church is for a wedding or to admire the archetecture in some cathedrals.

no church for me...

if god died for us dont you think hed want you to live your life and not spend it in church? someone who had the selflessness to die for people surely would want them to enjoy what he died for, which is you to live. thats just my thoughts on it.

LOL...don't let the screen name fool ya. I go regularly, and my wife plays for the church band.

You'd be surprised who strong in their faith and not even know it around you. Some of the best modded cars out there are done by Christians.

To church every Sunday with my parents for about 16 years. Now I no longer go, but that has nothing to do with my faith.

My gripes are along the same lines as Mike. Our pastor will stand up there and talk money, donations, etc. It's not like he does it every once in a while, he does it every time he is at a mass. It's gotten to the point where people roll their eyes when they see him get up.

I disagree with other things that the church does and says as well. The bottom line is, not going to church does not make me any less of a Christian (I'm sure the church would say otherwise). I just practice in other ways.

You seem to follow more of a Buddhist/Taoist idealogy than Christian.

I find all of the information about the bible very interesting (again, the church will say I shouldn't question it). The best class I had in college was Religious studies where the professor would give us some things to think about in regards to the bible.

In all likelihood, what happened thousands of years ago, is probably not accurately recorded in any book. Look at the Hindu holy books (Vedas, I think). They were passed around verbally for 500 years before they were ever written down. That's like a 500 year long game of whisper down the lane, things are bound to change along the way! The same with the bible, I think that as they were translated and transcribed over the years people interpreted, added, and removed things to suit their own beliefs and personal interests.
