Is it the right time to buy into Verizon since they are expected to Launch FioS soon??

What are analysts saying? What's the price per share?

I think FiOS could really screw Comcast's dominant hold on the datacommunications market. Might be a good long term hold.

I've had FIOS for about 3 months now. It's twice the speed of Comcast digital and I get all the same services. I have VOIP, HDTV Cable, and Internet. The reason I switched was because my comcast bill was different every month, and even though I complained about it, comcast never seemed to be able to get it right. In the 3 months I've had FIOS I haven't had a problem, in fact their tech support was great. I spent over a hour with their tech support and the rep was nothing but helpful.

in very limited areas, too. I can't even get verizon dsl in my area....sheesh.

its not around here either, but i see the verizon trucks out here every day working on the lines for the past 2 months.

from my standpoint the company has been progressivly doing better and better and FiOS is definitly going to keep that trend rolling if not really bump it up a notch. seems like a safe investment.

verizon and their customer service sucks, save your money and invest into a better company.

MMMM Stock talk. Of the 30 analysts who report on the stock 16 are saying hold, 5 are saying it will outperform, 7 are saying buy and 2 dont like it. The s/p ranking is a hold, according to scottrade.

It is currently very close to it 52 week high and has a p/e of 20 which is average for its industry. Its return on assets and return on equity are half of what the industry is.

If all that sounds good to you then buy it up. Personally I like to read all about a company, see if there is anythingh on the horizon that could effect the stock price. I know the union is trying to fire the board. Depending on your take on the situation it could be good or bad. I know they are also fighting with comcast over rights to distribute the product in areas.

I like value investing and to me, with a P/E level with the rest of the industry i wouldnt buy this. But everyone is different.
