LGT goes to Cobb Stage 2 . . . First thoughts

So as the title suggests, I have gone to Stage 2 (sorry Troll, had Precision Tuning do the work) and here are some initial opinions.

Parts used:
1. PDE up-pipe
2. Cobb catless down-pipe
3. Re-flash to Stage 2 v1.15

The parts are extremely well made and I have no doubt that they will stand the abuse over time.

Wow, what a difference over stage 1. The first thing I noticed was the noise. You can hear the turbo like its in the passenger seat. This was followed by drampatically improved turbo spool. The decrease in restriction really gets the turbo going quickly. There is more power in the entire power spectrum. Hitting 110mph is just sooooo effortless (accidentally hit it on the highway). This is changed over stage 1 where there was a loss in power between 40 and 50 when light on the throttle. So far, no catalitic smell so that makes me happy.

The car is an absolute dream. Running very fast (especially with the cold weather). I can't say enough about this car, it's the real deal. Speed and comfort. I can't wait to see what my Automatic puts down at the track.

Stage 2 is "quite the fancy", wait till the ECU starts to adapt and or qtr tank of gas.. Check out my post in the tech section about resetting your ECU with performance results.

Did you put your 02 sensors back in? cel eliminator? Or just let the accessport do all that? what about emissions testing? how long did they take to do your car? i'm also considering goin to stage 2 w/ a crucial uppipe and a shorty down. PM me how much they charged you if you could, i'd like to get this done soon and enjoy the extra torque~!

I dont know about him...but and up/down combo can be done yourself with as long as you are a bit mechanically inclined and have the right tools and plenty of time and patience( a buddy helps too). There are many install guides that can be found or numerous sites.

the front 02 sensor (at least on the WRX) is very important, it has to do with how much fuel is added to your air/fuel mix by the computer. This has to stay in. The rear 02 sensor just registers cat efficiency, so obvously if you dont have a cat, it will set off a CEL-- but the accessport clears all cells anyway so you dont have to worry about a cel eliminatior.

Emissions testing--obviously you are going to have to reinstall the stock exhaust setup if you want to pass--something that most tuners take into consideration before doing cetain mods--also, you can get downpipes that have highflow cats already in them, which is convienient albiet quite expensive.

Sorry for the delay (like 2 years haha). No O2 sensor in the car. Used a resistor 2.2 OHMs I believe to fix the O2. I've flashed to Cobb Stage 2 and have no CEL. Passed emmissions with no problems.

Haha . . . the thread is back from the dead. As for numbers I really don't know. I haven't taken the car to the track yet . . . hopefully this season I'll make it out.
