i actually downloaded a program from Red Chair....Anapod Explorer. Its pretty nice to use, looks JUST like windows explorer, allows you to drag and drop music as you please.

I dont know much about iTunes, this is what I use.

All you do is plug the iPod into the computer, then, under "file" you can select "update songs on ___ ipod" or if its another version of iTunes it may say "sync iPod" Also, in the preferences when the iPod is plugged in you can specify which songs/playlists you want loaded onto the iPod. THere are some other cool features too, but since you're just getting started i'll leave those for later.

Edit: Sorry, someone told me the thread was about another iTunes question. When you put the CD in, you click on the CD's icon on the left, and then you should see the import button. Hope this helps.

Ipods are pissing me off. Im on my 3rd ipod within a year because the hard drive on the last two died. And when I asked why they said "it just happens". My 2nd one lasted a total of 4 months before dying.

ive had my 60gig for over a year. never had issues.

if you have mp3s on your computer that you want to add, you just drag them into the itunes library/music window. then plug the ipod it and it will update them.

but they are designed to self-destruct... most last about a year and that's it.

Yep. If you are having trouble with hard drive base MP3 player, I would suggest trying some that are based on solid-state memory. The only bad thing is that solid-state memory has not caught up to hard drives in terms of storage capacity. They will eventually, since the prototypes already exist.
