ATTN: Medical people (cough Drftpretty cough) i need advise!!

ok so i was in Ohio and working out at a gym and i had an accident, and bled pretty bad.
Minuted after the incident, cleaned up a bit at the gym

24 hours later back in Philly

it's still bleeing a bit, but it's dry since i have it uncovered...

will this heal properly? or do i need to do anything?

I need this fixed cuz i need to workout in the next day or so!

damn, not sure how to tell you this bro but once the fingers go bad there isn't much you can do.. have you arranged a will or advanced directive?

seriously it doesn't look bad, was it out with a little peroxide and try to take it easy ( if you go to the gym tomorow you're probably going to open it again, if you must go just go easy on the hand )

also; bandaids suck, go to rite aid and get some gauze and tape, or some half inch kerlix if they sell that. you want to keep it covered so it doesn't get infected as easily, but bandaids collect a lot of germs and nasty ish

im no medical expert but i say get some neosporin on a bandaid and keep it covered for a few hours then uncover and let dry. repeat a few times and when ready to work out recover and bandage lightly..feel free to dismiss this, just what i usually do

That's a sissy little cut.

Wrap some good electrical tape around it, or some duct tape and it will heal right up. Let it air out when you go to sleep. Rinse, wrap, repeat.

Sorry I didnt catch this sooner. It looks normal to me.

White skin around lacerations is usually present when the blood vessels in that area begind to constrict.

If the wound is still bleeding like you stated, You can expect the area to have a pale/ whiteish color to it until the bleeding stops.

When you get a cut the collagen fibers in the broken blood vessel wall attract platelets to the area, when the platelets attach to the broken vessel wall a chemical called serotonin is released which causes localized vaso-constriction. This vaso-constriction will obviously cause less blood to intervate the area with fresh oxygen, thus the odd color and the prunning effect. Your body is trying to make due with oxygen which that little cut is being given. I would expect the odd color to go away when the cut stops bleeding.

Im guessing thats whats still going on here.

Like stated before, keep it covered. Not tightly though during the day. Rinse it with hydrogen-peroxide at least twice a day and let it have air when your just around the house.

If it changes color to anything besides White or Pinkish call your family doctor. That could be the onset of nacrotic tissue or infection. If any of your FMR (fine motor reflexes) are effected go to the ER ASAP.

Bottom line. Watch for anything werid, firmness, tingleing, dis-coloration, and a cheesey smell. Also, try not to re-open it.

Hope that helps. In any case, keep me posted
