Google Chrome, web browser

http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/

this is pretty techie at parts, but easily comprehensible.

I for one am looking forward to it. But I'm also not so sure I want a google browser... they store enough information through the use of their apps and search.. I can only imagine the amount of information they will be receiving and storing from the use of their browser

I've grown kinda fond of Mozilla, but I'll def. give chrome a try. I'll talk to my friend who works at google and see if i can get an invite or something to a beta.

google browser has potential to > *

I don't feel like getting into the tech stuff as the little 20 page comic does a better job explaining it with visuals.

Lets just say... its a better browser, built differently than anything else currently, and has the name "google" on it.

It has potential to destroy the browser market simply b/c of the name and our inherent trust in google and their projects.

Multi threading.. nice...

Put it this way... remember when you used windows 95 and a program crashed and it would take out the whole system

compare it to today when a program crash's it doesnt always take everything out with it.

You can dl the beta now. It's faster than ff3 but is less convenient seeing as there isn't any icons. Also you can't click with the mouse scroll wheel and just drag the mouse to scroll. I also just downloaded IE8 which runs even faster than chrome and ff3 for me.

It's all a matter of personal preference and configuration at this point in the game...

I'm using the browser right now and it's better than firefox as far as speediness. they should leave it alone because so far it rocks.

what's even better is that wtf??.com takes you to wtfpeople.com and that's fairly raunchy.

no it isn't

The technology and glue behind the browsers need to be looked at and we need something fresh to stir the pot and bring about more changes that are more inline with current and future technologies.

I for one am excited to see a browser that doesn't crash because one page hung up...

alright, i got me some google chrome. I really really like it so far. It also has an "incognito mode" that makes everything about your browsing history completely covered. I'll give a better update tomorrow after some use.

Issues so far:
Scrolling is WAY too fast.
.gif go slide by slide, very slowly.

using it right now for general web browsing... I think I'll keep Chrome as just that at work to see how it performs.

The scrolling is a bit speedy... and I don't see any options to slow that down. Over all, I like it so far... but I've been using it for 5 minutes

It comes with a built in "javascript console" which gives you a firebug type view of the page. So it displays all the elements... not, if only it allowed you to edit them like firebug does.

Google is very concerned with web usability and usage. I think this browser has some serious potential to rock hard once it is complete.

and the resources tab on the console is awesome...

I downloaded it and have no complaints so far. I like how in the options one of the tabs is named "Under the Hood"

Windows only is no fun, but like nearly everything google does, it looks like it will be great.
To quote a friend, google is going to take over the world like that company in Wall-E.
