Ouch, that sucks. How many people were on the bus? A buddy of mine was sued by every person(11 people) on a bus that he had an accident with. Not saying that will happen, but just a heads up.

I want to but it's going to be a hassle due to no witnesses. I just want my car fixed so I can sell it or totaled, because I want to get rid of it. I have a truck I use for the winter.. so I want to sell my Z and truck to drop my insurance and get an STi to drive for summer and winter. AWD ftw.

Not necessarily... and what is he going to sue for? Emotional distress?
BTW, Glad you have insurance. It seems more and more these days they are making things "no fault." My girlfriends car was sideswiped by an 18-wheeler when the truck tried to merge on top of her car. The police failed to write a detailed report and she now has to pay the deductible, but luckily no more. Is your insurance going to go up? It might not. yeah you can sue for pain and suffering and loss of income as well. I had a similiar accident where I was able to sue.. The bus SHOULD have a cmera on it so that would show the light and hopefully it was at an intersection where there was a camera.I knew something like this would happen soon.. I have been Shoved out of the way by septa buses alot and nearly hit who knows how many times..People are afraid to sue but someone should.. It would cause them to look at what thier drivers are doing... and more likely than not, you will win. They will prolly settle out of court.

but anyway, he told the cop he went through a yellow light, but thats impossible.. my light would of never been green if it was yelow. Besides, who goes through a YELLOW left arrow in a ~70 foot bus.....? NEGLIGENCE. |

I hate Septa as well.. just playing devil's advocate. As a law student I welcome frivolous law suits, I enjoy the job security. As a side note, one of my classmates works for Septa's legal team. She said they settle out of court 9 times out of 10. You wouldn't believe the crap that people sue Septa for and most of it has nothing to do with their drivers, or they involve illegally parked cars that were hit. *edit - Go Penn State! To add to that. Septa drivers (and all public services) owe a stronger duty of care then a normal person would in the same circumstance. That being said it might be against Septa policy/ rule that they can't run a yellow.

Yeah as long as the cop put down that he went thru a yellow you will be fine.. And sometimes there are 2 one for the people riding and sometimes if the driver has had an accident before they mount one to make sure that driver doesnt run a light..Its the only way they can watch thier drivers and prevent insurance from going thru the roof.Atleast thats how it was done in DE and in FL..Usualy after the 1st at fault acidnt the driver is fired anywyas. But septa will settle out of court with or without the video. However this guy is likey gonna have to have a camera on board watching his driving if they do that.Like i said im not sure about Septa..
