240sxDann's 93 Nissan 240sx Coupe-Now officially on the road!

First and foremost, please excuse the messy thread, its being copied from another forum. Its from the time I got it up until now, which has been about a year.

Well, hopefully this will be my last member journal for a long time. I have a solid base to build on, and its the style of 240 I like the most. As of right now, its pretty basic. Cheap 18" wheels, cut springs. Has a momo tuner steering wheel. 3" custom fabbed exhaust. Shortly she'll be getting a set of coilovers. So for the time being this is just a look how pretty my car is type of deal lol. Enjoy! Comments welcome. The wheels arn't staying too long, but other things need to be taken care of first.

Video of driving with sr20det!!!:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=766av3_YcvA

Video of straight 3" exhaust:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn-GxeL_PrI

Video of 3" exhaust with a vibrant 18" resonator and a thrush welded muffler:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRQtaB0TPoQ

THE LIST:

-Coilovers - CHECK!

-Take care of all the wires leading to nowhere and find out where the hell they go-**** it

-5 lug swap - CHECK!

-Q45 brakes - CHECK!

-WHEELS=CHECK!

-sr20det - CHECK!

It's basically done. Last things I need to do: Get a boost controller, get exhaust and put it on (picking it up tomorrow), and get tuned. Check it.

Gauges in and all hooked up

Front end back on

Pink skull and cross bones. Got covered up half way though.

5/15/09

Today my HKS SSQV, my ISIS rad hoses and my oil filter came in the mail.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________

Not a whole lot done today, just mounted my gauge pod (thanks nick!) to see what it was gonna look like. Still have all the wiring to run and what not.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________
5/10/09
Got a few things done today. I accidentally got an S14 radiator, so I just made 2 brackets to hold it in for the time being, its a Mishimoto. Also got the FMIC on. Its a no name dealy, so I used that intercooler, and part of the piping from that kit, and also part of the piping from the FMIC kit that came with my motor.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________
5/9/09

Switched the interior plugs on my harnesses

Got the motor in and most of the wiring harness hooked up

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________
5/7/09

Got my boost gauge and a-pillar pod. THANKS NICK!

Tore the front end down today, and pulled the whole wiring harness out. SR20DET is being delivered tonight, it is on its way.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
__________________________________________________ _______________________________________________

I want to replace my headliner, but I didn't want to just do a factory black or whatever, so this is going over my current one:

I also got my AEM UEGO YAY!

Pics from the track day. Finally got around to actually posting them LOL!

Just a few pics of the rear on the ground. This is just about all the way up on the coilovers, really can only go down from here. And this is on 15's.

9/19/08-Got my 5 lug swap done on the rear, and the coilovers on. Mock fitment of wheels:

mmm flush

Picked up some new brakes tonight!

mmm 11 inches

5 holes? oh yea.

Oh whats that hiding back there?

Got my coilovers tonight! Picked them up from Roots Factory. (THANKS GUYS!) GodSpeed Type-RS 16 way adjustable.

I know they're not super great but I'm getting a set of godspeed coilovers here pretty shortly from roots factory. Better then cut springs. Then wheels. Then boost. <-very important.

Godspeed coilovers are no better than cut springs. True story.

lol... dude i drifted on a set of godspeeds and have no complaints. except they are a little bouncy for my taste. but to upset the suspension on any given drift event they are well worth it. plus they have a manufacturer warranty you break it send it back for a replacement.

now don't get me wrong you could go out and spend a couple more and get a set of megan, k sport, bc. but for the money you can't beat it.

sorry for jacking your thread brother your s13 is super sweet good luck with your project.

thanks man!

for they most part, these and megan and a lot of the other companies all come from the same place as each other. Just different brand names. I mean obviously some things are going to be different but quality wise they are all around the same. And yea, 1 year manufacturer warranty so that works for me. Roots Factory ftw

Same factory, and same parts are very different.

Having torn apart MR, Apexi EXV's, D2's, and entry Tein's I can say the only two that were remotely the same were the MR and the Apexi's. the D2's were trash, and the Tein's were using their own stuff.

Well that is good to know. (not being sarcastic, I'm always happy to learn new stuff) I've read a few things on zilvia about these godspeeds and from what I get out of it, for my purpose (spirited daily driving and occasional track use) these will do ok. Again, I'm not looking for anything special, just need to get something better then what I have.
