looking for In-dash Navigation

ive decided... after being in a few cars with indash nav that i want it... its way better than mapquest etc.. so why not... plus most are dvd players as well which would be kinda cool..... anyway my requirements for said unit are as follows:

- One DIN space (aka flip up or one that has a decent screen that fits into one DIN space)
- must have decent sound outputs and such
- DVD capable
- HD radio capable (its free, why not get better music for free)
- MP3/WMA capable
- upgradability would be very cool as well.. like if i could hook up a reverse camera to it.. or something like that...

recommendations/suggestions/comments please.

tweeter was having a promotion that fred was telling me about thats really killer but it might not be what you want since i think its a double din and it doesnt play dvds. it was like 1200 though and was a built in nav AND the promotion gave you a portable nav with it for free (ebay = $300).
maybe they are having some other promos too...
but if not i'd say look into the alpine flip outs and either the alpine blackbird which can be integrated or portable or the normal alpine nav. it'll do everything you're looking for.
i'll eventually have my alpine iva-d300 for sale, but still waiting on the in dash replacement for it

double din is out of the question... but ill check on the other stuff.. i dont like the portable ones either because they take up space on the dash. im trying to work with the space ive got as much as possible as not to clutter it.

ill look into that JVC one... i think i saw it at circuit city and it was pretty nice...

your basically describing my system, I have a pioneer avic n2 witht he pioneer rearview camera nad i ahve the ipod adapter. Currently there in the avic n3, which allows you to actually see your ipod screen on the screen instead of it working like a cd and you have to hit next track. Mine is dvd capatable, but unless you overide it and void the warranty you can only watch dvds when your parking break is up and your in park. I love the superbass and powerful presets they sound awsome and also you can customize every option of the presets to make it fit your need. The camera work fine its a litle big but not too bad. Have any other questions just pm me or submit in thread.

Those rear view camera's are cheap! My friend got one for $30 bucks and it works great with his headunit.

I had a awesome deal on an avic-n3 but the dude flaked. Then I bought a dual audio which was a ****ty brand so I got my money back. Right now I'm looking at an alpine pulse touch, I should have it within the next couple weeks.

You really don't need hd radio buttt if you need it the pioneer and alpine pieces don't do that so that is gonna limit you to sony jvc and a few others and in my opinion you should only go with a pioneer or an alpine.

why not get a portable GPS ? I have a garmin nuvi and it's freaking amazing, was only 700 bucks and it's a flat screen / only like half an inch thick, best part is you can take it with you like your headunit so no ******s will steal it

I had an Avic N2 in my ford probe a while ago. My friend got one for his civic because I had a hookup and someone stole his N2, just the headunit though, ripped it out without the brain.
