Oil Pressure/ Oil Temp Gauge ?

Where would you recommend installing the sending units for both?

I almost purchased one of those but found out that subaru has plugs in their engines which can be swapped out with pre-threaded adapters for gauges.

as for the sanwich adapters: be cautious of the materials they are made of. I was looking at the greddy adapter but i noticed that the silver finish was actually either painted or otherwise not solid aluminum. i noticed the finish flaking off in the packaging. having seen that, I didnt want any of those flakes getting into my oil.

there are a few different manufacturers out there who have sanwich adapters. if you do get one, make sure its an annodized finish, not painted or coated.

Good to know the Greddy was the one I was looking at! Thank you

the only leaking ive got is caused by an incorrect size oil filter... other than that its good to go.. and mine ... to my knowledge is not painted at all...

edit: mine came with my super expensive STi Genome Defi's...

Mine is almost the same design, except mine replaces the old pedestal and bolts in a new pedestal with new O-rings. I haven't had any problems with it and as far as I know its been accurate for readings.

some people argue that reading the oil temp at the filter is not going to give you as accurate a reading as tapping it from your block directly. the argument is that the oil at the filter is the oil from the pan. the pan gets cooled by the flow of air from underneath the car. so theoretically your reading would be lower than the actual engine oil temp. but then again, the oil is constantly flowing so i dunno.

what brand of gauges are you looking at?

That might be true. I usually don't have to worry about the oil temps so much it usually stays around 5-10 degrees warmer than my water temps. I usually watch it to make sure my oil temps are warm enough to actually get on the car. Which for me I wait until 150 degrees.
