Oh, I didn't realize strangulation is considered an "accident"

Well you know when you are in love with a 6 year old girl...and you strangle/rape her...it's a total accident.

Well, I get what he is saying.

I mean, she accidentally got in his car...
They accidentally went into the basement...
He accidentally swung out and beat her...
Which led to him accidentally putting his hands around her throat...
And then he accidentally *squeezed* said hands for a period of more than a minute or two.

I completely see where he is coming from, that shiat happens (accidentally of course) ALL the time.

BTW:

But they caught him all the way in Thailand and he was a former neighbor (I believe) of the Ramseys...whole thing still seems fishy to me.

I dunno, if I killed someone and all the blame was put on the parents but nothing could be proven, I'd probably head for the hills as well. That way you don't accidentally implicate yourself somehow.

Out of sight out of mind ya know.

Hopefully the glove will fit...

are we capable of a serious conversation?

i saw this on the news last night and was really surprised to hear that they found someone who admitted to this, honestly i thought all was lost on this case. sounds like just another psychopath doing his thing, but honestly i'm surprised it wasnt her parents... until now that seemed like the only logical thing.

I have a feeling he's going to "accidently" be ass-raped daily once he goes to prison.

And he really didn't come out. From what I am reading he was speaking to someone (the he may have known or may not have known) to be working with the police about this. When they finally caught him he did not put up a fight. Who knows, maybe this guy just wants to be in the spot light? Maybe plead a case of being insane and get out of prison in half the time...seems to be the way to work the system.

Correct. Prior to his retirement, my grandfather worked as a CO at Graterford Prison for just over 22 years. When I was really young, my grandmother would take me to visit my grandfather while he was working. Graterford was relatively liberal with its work programs outside the walls, and prisoners were generally compliant. That being said, I interacted, albeit under close supervision, at a very young age (4-6 years old) with a few people who I later found out to be murderers. Just hi, how are you, etc as many of them had befriended my grandfather.

Murderers are the "normal ones" in prison and generally are respected among their "peers." If it involves children? Forget about it... pack the vasoline and brace for impact.

In all seriousness, the court of public opinion is already out on this guy considering this is probably the most high profile case of child abuse/abduction/molestation in history. You can bet that within days of this guy stepping foot in prison his life will be over. Even the most brutal convicted felons don't tolerate child killers.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have known of similar stories...

It's somewhat funny to see that murderers/thieves have absolutely no respect for anyone who has done anything sexually agressive towards a child (mostly becuase they all have a child of their own), and those types of people get the worst abuse out of any prisoner (i.e. rape, beatings, etc.)

Oh and to note, I find it rather disgusting he was a former teacher. It doesn't say why his teaching privaleges were revoked but we can only guess...

preston and steve were talking about this today.

Apparently the guy was a neighbor of theirs when they lived in Georgia.

He was arrested in Bangkok for other sexual haressment charges, and told them after the arrest he was responsible for the death of JonBenet.

I'm not sure whether or not to believe the guy, but according to reports he was giving details about the crime scene that were never released to the public. So it is possible.

On the other hand, I'd probably admit to murdering someone in the US if I was arrested in Bangkok. The Thai legal system isn't very lenient, and is quite brutal

I was wondering the same. I wouldn't be surprised if he probably has some child related citations, whether they are on his rap sheet or just verbalized and documented within the school system.

He says he "loved" her. I am making the assumption that it is not a platonic or fatherly love he is referring to.

you can bet, that before, during, and after any kind of trial, this guy will be isolated from the general population. He will have a solitary life within prison. Now, that isn't to say nothing can happen to him. People can be bribed, and I'm sure he'll get his.

That's an angle for the conspiracy theorists to work...

Better to be extradited and tried for a capital crime in the US than a lower level crime over there.
