I apologize if this comes off as a "noob" type question, but I am wondering how I can go about cleaning my air filter? I've read soap & water and let it air dry, but also know that they make oils that you are supposed to use to clean the air filter.

The air intake I have is on the end of a Perrin Intake, I'd just like to do this properly without any hiccups or missteps along the way.

Do you know if it's a dry or oiled filter? It really depends, I know you can buy a K&N oil charge kit at Autozone for 10 dollars

IMO Id just clean it real good with a can of brake clean and then get a Hydro Shield cover. You will never have to clean the filter itself again only quick hand wash the hydro shield. Best filter setup I have ever run by a long shot. I know any Pepboys with a speed shop has them right on the shelf along with eBay and Amazon.
