Tint is technically PC enough to stop you if you cannot see the occupants from a reasonable distance. Once he was behind you he obviously saw the plate cover. Tint must be from factory or allow at least 70% of light thru. The plate must not be covered to the point you would not be able to read it at a reasonable distance similar to the tint.
Both citations are strictly at the officers discretion along with any citation. You can pull the tint and cover off but at the time of the stop you had them affixed. At this point it is at the magistrates discretion to keep the citations or dismiss them. |
