Any one else feel this way about religion.

Thought these were pretty funny... Not to laugh at anyones religion cause thats ur belief not mine. But i personally believe that there is no god. I think he was made up to set community and moral standards.

Im gonna have to say i disagree. Now first understand that i am not a creationist who believes everything i read. but i do believe in God very strongly. look around u, everything works so well. and that includes things that dont seem to work out. In the big picture, it all works as a well oiled machine. and as for the whole science vs. God thing....that entire argument is retarded because they are one and the same. God made the universe, he engineered everything to the last detail. Science is humanity's efforts to understand how and why God made things. It is my belief that the universe carries on as God designed it. God steps in every now and then when he feels he needs to. But i do not believe that everything is predetermined from the start. I believe in actual free will. I dont think that God knows when and how you will die when u are concieved. Things are much more hands on and in the moment than that. God will step in every now and then to kind of push things an his desired direction, but i really do believe that things do just happen. I consider myself a christian, but in reality, im not really big on religion, for me its all about faith in God. Jesus, Mohamed, Moses, and others, while extremely influencial, and absolutely devinely sent, are not the big picture. their stories are mere subsets. And it is natural for humans to try to make a small piece into the whole picture. All the holy books have been corrupted by people with alterior motives by now. This corruption of the text gave them power over the masses who want a simple answer where there is none. and that has not changed, people still want simple answers. I your case, ur answer is to dismiss the concept. And that is ur own choice to make, but consider the fact that u may be incorrect, I do the same. but always consider other ideas before firmly establish ur own. And if having a simple answer helps u live ur life well, then do what u have to do. Me, I personally love to think about bigger things, and it doesnt phase me. but not everyone is the same way. just my opinion, feel free to debate, lets just keep it clean. lol

Im not a religious person, and I dont care about the facts. I just think that sometimes its worth believing in something then nothing at all.

I'm serious. That is my opinion. You should respect it. I respect all religions equally. I just don't respect the zealots that think it's religion or die. Or the ones that think their god is greater than someone else's god. It's the biggest piss fest this earth has ever known. No other wars have caused more death than the wars in the name of religion.

Bro, I wasnt moking u, i not only respect ur opinion, I completely agree with it. That is why i said my faith is in God and not some simplistic and divisive religion. Also, Christianity, Islam, and Judism. all have the same God and the same story to a certain point. Is it really so hard to believe that God could have sent more than one divine messenger. Id think not. Their is a big difference between religion, and faith in God. Alot of ppl dont recognize this. Weather u believe in God or not is ur issue, and I do respect ur choice. But ya dude, religion itself is complete bullsh*t, and it has become one giant hypocracy. Its supposed to inspire good, but has been the cause of the most evil acts ever committed. No religion is right or wrong, its how u live ur life that matters. People who honestly care about what religion someone else is are f*ckin idiots.

I wasnt moking u bro, I was making fun of Humanity and how pathetic we really are as a whole. HAHAHAHAHA

Comedians are smart, make good points, but no one ever takes them serious because of the lulz.

Carlin was a genius. Outspoken, loud, obnoxious, but a genius.

tru that bro, so many ppl take everything waaaayy too seriously, and that actually winds up being a dangerous thing. Just look at whats happening in israel right now. (i started a thread about that lol. Because if we can all laugh at their stupidity, then it may eventually be over) I think all those ppl over there fighting over there ar f*ckin idiots and hypocrites for making WAR in the name of GOD. both sides are wrong. Israel just has alot more money and guns, and has good relations with the US. But i know alot of muslim ppl who have showed me the palestinian side, and israel is MUCH scarier b/c they have all the sh*t. Hamas and them use car bombs only because there is no other way to fight. And a car bomb is NOTHING compared to the airstrikes the israel does. And dont even think for a second that they dont both intentionally kill "innocent" people, b/c they do. as does the USA. welcome to the reality of warfare. It sucks but it has always been this way. Things like the Geneva convention dont mean ****. Example, it outlaws 50cal weapons, yet we have Barret 50 sniper rifles employed currently. I have talked with a marine who has used one in combat, he told me how they get around the restrictions.

The good thing about war is that it advances our technology greatly. The bad thing is that most of that technology is weapons related and after there is no one left to shoot those weapons end up on the wrong hands of people who do not understand them but are very willing to use them. It's going to take a VERY long time for humanity to outgrow agression as a main means of communication.

This thread is going really well. im surprized

I see it like this. You can't be sure of ANYTHING. Stay open minded, don't just dismiss anything...

We can all hope theres an afterlife, and even say there is for sure. This is fine, it gives people hope, helps with the fear of death...

But deep down, you know for sure that you don't know **** for sure. You're just going to have to wait and see.

edit:

and about religion... its just fine for spreading the word about morals, and giving hope... telling cool stories of people like jesus and moses... but honestly i wouldnt take these stories as FACTUAL. I think their sole purpose is to make people understand morals, and thats about it. Religion is fine for spreading hope and morals, these are good. But don't believe the hype.

And I think its fine to accept that there may be something greater than us all. But nobody knows what it is and if it even exists. So just leave it at that. Don't beleive all these silly stories and start acting crazy. Just sit back and realize there might just be something more to it than meets the eye (not like transformers either. like smoke some salvia and get open minded)

My outlook is this... I don't think religion is a bad thing. Alot of it is bull****. I believe that there is no afterlife... Would i love it if there was... Hell yea. But i don't think there is.

I don't believe in religion/God/heaven/hell, etc. Nothing. I don't believe in the existence of a 'God' and I never will.

Without getting too far into it.. this is how I feel about religion ;)

"You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways."

(It's from House M.D. lol..he says it best)
