4G63 + TH-350 + Mustang

After I dynoed my Talon @ 440whp I thought I hurt the engine so decided to pulled it out and get it checked. Turned out to only be carbon build up on the valve. Instead of returning it to the Talon chassis I decided to go a different route by putting the engine in a fox body. Excellent drag race platform, easy to find parts for, and CHEAP. No one likes to constantly replace drive line parts in a DSM or go buy way expensive trannys and axles so I found a guy in Ohio who makes adapter plates from Mitsu to Chevy which was perfect for what I wanted to do. I talked a local guy down to $700 for a caged Mustang shell with no engine, no trans. Again, perfect. After I sandwiched the engine to the Turbo 350 trans, and put the power house in the car, I took it to World Motorsports to do all the fabrication work. As of now, it is at the shop getting the wiring harness put in and then re-tuned.

Here are some pictures to date.

I just have to ask.... because I have destroyed a few well built TH350's, why not a TH400?

O wow, this looks pretty cool.
Whats even more interesting is that that shell looks like one of my neighbors old cars. I know he sold it a while back....Is there mounting points for nitrous where the passanger seat should be?

Chevy into a Ford is common enough that there are off-the-shelf parts for that.

This isn't the first 4G63 swapped fox body I've seen. However its a lot nicer looking than the other one I saw.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The TH350 is a little lighter cause of the case being thinner and we all know power to weight is vital in drag racing. Drive shaft will be custom made, its pretty simple actually since both u joints are common. The shell has an 8 point cage, coil overs front and air bags rear, sub frame connectors, the whole shibang for a "street" car
