Wiring differences between 94 OBD1 and 96 OBD2?

Alright so I'm picking up a 1994 OBD1 integra shell.

My old car was a 96 OBD2

The ECU is an OBD1 with Hondata. Originally it was installed in my car with a conversion harness.

OBD1 ECU ---> OBD2 wiring/motor.

When I took my car apart we pulled EVERYTHING. So we have the dash harnesses, rear wiring, engine harness, etc. However I want to know what I'm up against.

The car is coming with a dash and all wiring in tact. The ONLY wiring the owner is removing along with his motor is the engine harness.

With that said. Will I be able to just plug in my motor and go, or will the ECU not know what to do since it's an OBD2 setup (right)? I have no issue re-running everything but it would be a pain in the ass and cost a lot of time. Which I need every second of to get the car ready for august.

honestly man, you're probably better off installing all of your "known working" equipment. you may run into wiring issues that the previous owner had, and may have never disclosed to you.

you will be able to just plug it in,as the obd crap is only for emissions. As long as you have all available plugs for your engine there you should be okay. Or as big jim suggested just use your own ****,since you know it works.

Yeah I'll take a look at it when the car is here and figure out the best way to do it so I have confidence in the final product.

Have been talking it over with some friends and matt and it makes more sense that it'll plug right in. We shall see

As Foolinaround said - you should be able to just plug in and go. You won't have to worry about all the emissions bs from the 96 now so get a nice tune

Haha I'll most likely leave the tune alone given the car runs good still. Not gonna touch what's not broken haha.

Small update. Motor plugged right in so far. Haven't checked to see if it runs due to needing a fuel line and some other things. Will update later
