PunkboySL2 causing a Ruckus

So I've been looking at scooters for a while now and after searching I really wanted a ruckus since they have a huge aftermarket and they're cool little scooters that'll pull 100 mpg. I bought this over the weekend and got around to doing some cleaning, painting and replacing some of the ugly silver bolts with black.

2009 Honda Ruckus

-GY6 150cc swap
-mountainbike handlebar & stem
-wide back wheel (stretched tire)
-NCY pipe
-rejetted
-10 pole stator

So far the plans are to paint it (not sure what I want to do yet), get a nicer bar & stem, and replace a bunch of the factory covers that are missing. Then eventually I'd like to get a front disc brake setup (new forks, wheel, and brake), get some more power out of it, rear coilover shock, PasswordJDM frame bushings and some other odds and ends.

Awesome, vanessa and myself are picking up scooters sometime in the next week. Zuma 125 for me and she likes the vino 125.

Also, you might want to put a rear fender on that. I know from riding sportbikes with no tail section, if the road is wet your back is going to get soaked.

nice man, congrats. Hit me up if you wanna ride when i get mine back from the welder. A few things you might wanna do is get a cvt cover for it, and get a better rear shock and mount, that looks kinda sketchy :P

I keep seeing people buy these. I can't figure out why when for the amount of money people are dumping into them they could just buy a real nice bike.

That was my thought. I was interested in them, until I saw how slow they were. I rather have a 1 year old Ninja 250r for the same price.

They are still pretty good none the less. I just wish they were faster.

yea the Ruckus is definitely a cruiser and the people that get them aren't looking to go crazy fast on them like you can with a "real" bike. plus you can seriously customize a Ruckus and for considerably cheaper than a "real" bike, so it's all about your taste. me personally, i'd much rather go fast in a car than on a bike.

I wasn't so much referring to going 'fast' as I was being able to leave a residential road and not be a hazard to myself or other people around me. Just being able to keep up with traffic really.

We used to have one of those old Yamaha 149cc street legal sport spikes. It wasn't 'fast', I think it topped out around 55mph, but it could get there rather quickly. So we had no problems riding it on RT 30 and keeping up with everyone else. I would be scared to take a Ruckus on a road like that.

I agree, to cruise safely on a 45mph road you should be able (IMO) to go at least 70 to avoid trouble/ merge into traffic. That being said with the 150 kit you should be able to hit 55-60. Just remember you dont wanna be going wot everywhere you go and without gears that'll put a serious damper on speed control

you'd be surprised how good they do in 45mph zones with the 150. Hell ill even hop on a 55mph zone if I'm only going like a mile or two. And people don't buy them for the same reason other people buy street bikes. Ive had both and they both have their benefits. The Ruckus is a **** load of fun though :D

It's been fun so far. I took it on it's first real ride the other night to pottstown and back with a couple friends. Definitely cruises at 50mph no problem.

some slightly updated pics. Still need to get some shots of the new handlebars and some other small **** I've done to it.
