Going with a few friends of mine to see what the 'ol girl got. If anyone wants to convoy down there, let me know.

For those that dont know:

Alot of us go out on thursday nights not so packed. If your going to import vs domesticated tonight would be your better night

i wish i could go on thursdays, but I work/school on that day.

One time i went with my friend during the summer, sometime in august, and it was a ghost town! besides me and him, there were 10 other cars. got at least 5 runs in, then we got bored lol. It was a friday too.

it was a pretty uneventful night, unfortunately. i was running pretty crappy times (low 16s) and for a second i thought my clutch was slipping on my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts (i was shifting pretty aggressively) i have a Southbend stage 3, properly broken in, so that couldnt have been the culprit. After a few runs and watching others run, i figured it out. the track was essentially an ice rink. it was barely above freezing for most of the night. A lot of cars (besides the slick-enabled crowd) were spinning on the 60ft-->330ft mark. As i was leaving the track, i did a couple 1-3rd pulls, and everything was legit. Funny how i had more traction on the street than the track /shrug

Now i know not to go to the track when temps fall below 40

they dont prep the track as good when its just test and tune but when there is an event goin on they prep it really good. one time i was on a sun there and there was an big event goin on and the track was so sticky went back the next week and it was like an ice skating ring. its all in fun tho i can go too the track and come home with the broken on the trailer and its a better night then just sitting around..

there's not much of a point in going now if you wanna run a good time...just gonna be TnT for the rest of the year and the track prep/temps will be garbage

+1 Even when i went it was terrible. Best bet to go was between August and October.

Oh well, time to resume this thread when spring hits!

It is pretty cool to say that you can drag race in December though. The track in Rochester ny closes in oct. I might try to go the last weekend atco just to do a pass this year.
