Montgomeryville Cops and Tinted Windows.

I live in Montgomeryville (Montgomery County) and just got my car tinted. I got 30% but it look A LOT darker. Matches with my friends car that is 20%. Its b/c i do not have a sunroof, so not much light gets in and my car is light silver. It is hard to see in my car.

In 3 weeks from now, will it get lighter when it clears up or will it stay this dark.

Has anyone in my area had trouble with the cops lately for having your front windows tinted. I have heard stories, but do not know ne one that has had to cut it out.

johnk12845 got a fix it ticket in hatfield a few weeks ago but nothing else has been done about it since. And montgomeryville doesnt really care. I you get caught speeding or something they will sometimes just write a ticket for the tints. But you shouldnt be bothered.

I have only gotten pulled over once for tint and it was in Newtown. The officer just checked my paper work, told me to get it taken care of and sent me on my way. I didn't do anything with the car and I didn't hear anything else from him. I think, for the most part, if you're not doing anything to call attention to yourself, they won't bother. just my .02.

mine didn't get darker or lighter in the four years I had it. I think the only time it could get lighter or fade is if it's cheap tint. If you got it from a reputable installer, it will most likely look the same for awhile. The only way it can be objectively measured is with a VLT (visible light tranmission) meter, most tint shops will have one to match tint if they are only doing one window and the rest of the car is tinted. Post up some pictures though!

I heard the laws changed and a car will not pass inspection if the front windows are tinted. Is this now true or just a rumor.

I never had an issue with getting my car passing inspection for tint. Maybe if the mechanic being an a-hole he can fail it. You already got it done though, right? If so, when it needs to be inspected just see what happens and take it from there...

usually if you get your window tinted by a shop that does inspections as well, they will tell you they will pass your car for inspection if you bring it to them.

Thats happened to me before but I think it's just propaganda for them to make more business. I'm sure if you take it to any shop it will pass just fine.
