a friend of mine just had his saturn quit on him, and its very likely he'll be getting a new car. He's been looking around and has taken a liking to the mk3 supra turbo. He'll get the turbo if he can, if not the N/a is still an option for him. This will be his first sports car and he does have some learning to do, but hes gonna take things slow. And from experience, a 200ish hp rwd car from that era is a great thing to learn on (i learned on a Porsche 944 S2). good mix of fun, practicality, decent speed but not too much, and good potential for later.

So the question is, Is this a good car for such a purpose? as in what are the normal issues with these cars? and are they reliable (overall)? Just wanna know from people who have real experience.

any input is appreciated

has the head gasket been done?
does it have a blown head gasket or has it ever?
targa top or not?
are there leaks in the hatch?
is there rust in the spare tire well and rear tire wells?
