wow, are you planning to raise it? that cant be very good for the life of the struts or the handling of the car... or the fender wells and tires, front lip, oil pan, etc etc.. haha.

yea im going to raise it up tomorrow or tuesday. the handling of the car isnt too bad considering the ride height, but yes the tires rub on the fender lining and sometimes bend the actual fender out a little bit. front lip is primered so im not worrying about it now. oil pan isnt an issue, but i have scraped my headers and my exhaust already. im most likely gonna get some lower profile tires like some 50-series so i can still have the car pretty low

yeah are you interested in performance at all? because i guarantee your car handles a lot worse now than it did on stock suspension. like said above all of your other suspension components are operating far out of their intended range and therefore are not working as intended. although your center of gravity is lower, your roll points are much different and every moving part attached to the suspension is compromised.

I never understood a Honda owners obsession with having their car dumped that low.

we like the look of it. my car isnt even that low considering i have seen a civic about 1-1.5" lower than my car, not on bags and it was daily driven

someone can read

but yea the tire is rubbing the fender lining right now so tonight im gonna raise it back up so i dont rub then im looking into getting some 50-series tires so i can still have the car lower than i can with 55-series

Did he have to cut holes in his fenders to let the wheels/tires through?

DOnt listen to him....your car handles way better....Roll the fenders, get a header that clears and carve up the corners.... My car is all the way down and I wish I could go lower....alignment makes a world of difference.... so does center of gravity....

ive seen lower...

roll your fenders and get different rims/tires and you could actually keep it that way...

i asked initially if you were interested in performance or looks... if you are just interested in looks and you think this is an improvement than perfect... its all about what you like. there is no reason to read any further because i will only be discussion the physics of suspension, not looks.

if you are reading this, that means you are interested in improving the handling of your car, not just the looks, and i think that is a great thing. hopefully this will prove to be valuable information...
if you are looking for increased performance i am trying to make the point that this amount of lowering is not going to be optimal. at stock height you'll see your control arms are are angled slightly down (less than this: / \ ) . they are that way so when you go over a bump and the suspension absorbs it they have room to go (somewhat like this: - - , or even a little in this direction: \ / ). they are meant to operate around the 0 point, which is parallel and only travel a certain amount above and below that point. if you lower your car excessively, you will be starting from or even higher than the 0 point and the suspension will only raise from there, then you are asking your suspension to operate well out of its intended range, and it will not perform as it should. what i mean is it will only move between - - and \ / which not only bypasses half of the range your control arm was designed with, but seriously decreases suspension travel which can also be a bad thing in this situation.
this will have a much more serious penalty than anything you can gain by lowering your cars center of gravity. you cant make huge changes to one suspension component without factoring in every other component as well because they all work together and are all important parts of how your car handles.
professional race cars you see on the track that are incredibly low have completely reengineered suspension mounting points... so they dont just put coilovers on and call it a day. they redesign everything to work together, and the end result is a car that handles well and is incredibly low. best of both worlds... at a price of roughly more than any of us could ever swing.
anyways... this got a little long winded, but thats what happens when someone tells me i dont know what i'm talking about. but streeteg probably didnt read part 2 of this anyways
