Advice on adding auxiliary lights
I was thinking of adding one fog and one driving light in the center of the bumper. Hella makes the 500FF light. I've used these in the past so I think one of each should do the job. Any reason not to run a fog and a driving light at the same time? Should give me some real nice side to side and distance. Hella 500FF Here is a picture showing front bumper. I was thinking of mounting the lights in the center.

what about using retrofit projector bulbs in your porsche housing, fog lights would look kinda out of place on those

Many people eventually add an oil cooler to the center after cutting out that centr piece. The facotry fogs were mounted toward the outside in the bumper.
I never tried the fog and driving light combo, but I have used the Hella FF 75 driving lights on another car. The beam pattern is wide and not as long as regular driving lights, which was very useful for fun on twisty back roads after dark. |

I have a huge black bumper so maybe some aux lights will break up the black anyways. I just don't want to run 4 lights but figure one fog, one driving and the "pencil" healdights will give me enough light. Probably just run 2 driving lights but I like the idea of lighting my extreme left and right. Maybe this photo shows what I am working with better.

I would mount the lights forward of that area so as you said later down the road I can install an oil cooler. I have an oil cooler in the back of the car and the oil system is pretty good. Never had a single heating issue. Last edited by turboman808; 08-08-2010 at 05:36 PM. |

Yellow car next to yours in that picture is pretty much exactly what I'd do with yours. Should give you pretty ample coverage right infront of you and to the left and right.
I know exactly what you mean with the pencil light. My bike is that way, I can see 1000yds ahead of me but 20 feet? Nope can't see **** lol. Really unnerving when riding up a hill and I'm looking at the tops of the trees but can't see anything on the hill...
