Pizza U in newark meet?

Anyone thought about doing a Pizza U meet in newark not that the weather is getting nice?

All the ricers are around and Newark police aren't exactly the nicest.

Pizza U is freakin delicious! but I agree on meeting in Newark + cops may equal major fail. I'll go eat a blue hen special pizza with you tho Larry ;-)

I just quit, but i used to work at the pizza u in west chester (owned by the same person) shame you guys didnt post this earlier..i probably could have gotten you permission from him to use the lot for a meet as to not have to worry about the police..i never check this section of the forum since imj not from the area, but it happened to be the top thread and i saw pizza u meet and was like hmmm...

I'd be up for something. If we get food and people don't act like jackasses, I don't see there being much trouble from the police.

I know you have that meet, I just know that there are other out of state people and newark is close for NJ and PA, so I figured I would just post something and gauge interest.

True. The locations of the bi-weekly are route 40 which is basically directly west of Newark in DE so it's not like Newark is farther North, thus more accommodating.

Just putting something out there, if no one bites not a big deal, me and a couple friends usually cruise up there on some nice nights every now and again, then cruise main st and go home.

Last Friday it was just My Viper, Scrub's RX7, and Joe's Supra in the Newark Shopingcntr parked near PizzaU. A rentacop stopped by and harassed us a couple times . We told him we were waiting for pizza (which was true) about 10min go by and our friends come walking back with the pizza. Before they even got back to us a NewarkPolice came flyin up jumped out of his car and rolled up on us all bad-ass like "ok you got your pizza , now you have to leave"

We proceeded to drive over to mainstreet and legally park at meters which was fine by me as more people got to check out the viper. With our sick cars we drew more attention on mainstreet then just chillin in the shoppingcnter, and i left my viper running(at idle she is over 100db wich is technically a noise violation) go figure... was that the cops plan? what a jackass

Hey Dom, don't really think meeting up in Pizza U is a good idea since my car got towed from there b4. I just left the shopping center for a bit and it was TOWED!! Gotta pay the fee to get my car back even I got it back within hours. Is ridiculous. I go to that shopping center all the times and I know the owner of the shopping center hired bunch of security just waiting for ppl to leave the shopping center and tow their cars away. Even if u r in the place, if u are not customer, u have to leave.

lol aren't their signs or stuff telling you not to park in the parking lot if you are not a customer? There used to be at least. I've never had a problem parking down there but then again I don't park and leave my car there if I'm not going to a store in the shopping center. I have a Capriotti's addiction so I'm usually down there once a week if not more.

To get respect you must first give it. The first Newark cop that rolled up to us was nice, and joking with us. Then his supervisor rolled up and treated us like criminals. I usually park on main street anyway, but it was nice hanging out.

I'm definitely open to a meet near that area because I live close, but newark shopping center is a bad idea. Cops tend to tow if you're not actively shopping or waiting for food in that lot. I have gotten a lot of attention from cops in that lot and I'm completely stock except for tint at the moment, and I wasn't even dicking around. If cops are worried about one semi-nice car in the lot, imagine if we rolled up with 20 or so decently tuned up cars. I'll be on the lookout for a meet nearby though, I know my car is just about stock but I still want to get involved.
