I just got an XBOX360. Yea, I waited a long ass time. So I get it home, set it all up how I want it and plug it all in. Got my wireless remote, and a game. Turn the console on, set up an offline account (didnt get live yet) and I thought I was ready to go. My controller is synced with the Xbox, I open the tray and pop the disk in. Close the tray, and my screen goes white. It says "To play this disk, place it in an Xbox 360 console" Or something to that affect. Theres no way off of the screen, besides to restart the console. WTF is going on?

try a diff game, maybe your game is f'd....are you playing on non hd ? if so make sure the switch on the av cables is set that way

I tried the AV cables, im playing on non HD right now. I also tryed a DVD and all i get is a black screen. I called tech support, and he told me to take it back to where i bought it.

I had the same issue when my cables were installed improperly.

How do you have them done?

Worst case, take it back ASAP before the holiday rush.

Went and got a brand new one today. All is well! Now I need the damn $100 wireless antenna. Anyone know where to get them cheaper? SUCH a ripoff!

cause its a piece of **** like mine, which has been sitting on my ****ing shelf for the last 3 months cause i was 2 weeks out of warrenty. **** xbox.
i bought n64 and 4 controllers with mad games. thats pimp decision

forreal tho, good luck with it, if u find anything out let me know. i want to play left4dead soooo bad

everyone i talk to is like "OO I love mine, never had an issue" Bull****. I bought my first Xbox360 on saturday (3 days ago) and since then, i've been through 2 of them. Onto the third one..

actually i have something that MIGHT work. but you need those star allen keys. i took mine apart one day, because i was told my lens was just dirty and that it would fix the problem. i got it all apart and got stuck cause i didnt have the tools. its worth a shot but if your still under warranty, dont listen to my angry ideas. i just punch mine every time i walk passed it and hope next time i decide to give it another shot it works.

You can use a wireless bridge also for the connections. Its what I did, and it works flawless.

Check the games, make sure there are no scratches. Also, was the system making some odd noises?

Thats because Gamestop employees don't know how to fix these things. We were never trained on how to take apart, and repair, video game consoles. That might be why they are telling to call Microsoft... since, you know, they made the thing.
