Anyone need to see the dentist?

Hey everyone, if any of you guys need any dental work done, I can be of service. Cavities, braces, cleanings, whitenings, veneers, root canals, etc. I am in my 3rd year at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) dental school and would be happy to provide for your dental needs. UPENN's clinic has some relatively cheap prices compared to private practices around the area and we take many types of insurance. If you would like to schedule an appointment, there are several ways to reach me.

Daniel Kim
Cell: (925) 300-6876
Pager: (215) 363-5659
E-mail: danielcharleskim@gmail.com

I can also give you an estimate of how much a certain procedure might cost. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

*FAQ*
Can I trust a student to do my dental work?

My answer: Yes, you can. Even though we are students, we must show a high level of proficiency to practice on patients. Every step that we take is carefully monitored by faculty who have many years of experience.

How much cheaper is it?

My answer: Varies according to each dentist's pricing, but for example, the school charges 65.00 for a cleaning. You can check with your neighborhood dentists to compare prices. Also as a side note, I do not see a single dime from doing these procedures because I am a student. I actually have to pay the school tuition and fees.

School website: http://www.dental.upenn.edu/patients/index.html
School location: 240 South 40th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19104-6030

Thanks for your time! Looking forward to seeing you in the future.

I'm in dire need of a dentist. I do not have dental insurance and have always had problems with my teeth. They say that I have calcium build up on my teeth which casue cavities? ...I don't know. But, I have atleast 4 cavities that I know of and I just had to have one molar extracted since I couldn't afford the root canal. Some of the cavities are where old fillings broke. So I guess my question is, how much is it to have cavities filled with the white composite filling?

I was opening the networking forum so I could find a dentist actually....WEIRD coincidence..

I hate mine with such a passion. This dickhead takes out all the money from my dental insurance for the whole year, at the start of the year, so I HAVE to stay with him. If I have the slightest problem with a tooth he immediately says...ROOT CANAL. Great, so you can get 3 grand for my tiny cavity? He's such a crook. The dentist that works with him had to have gotten her degree off ebay or something. While she was performing the root canal that I did not even need (before you ask why I let them, they just started drilling..so much to the point where they HAD to do a root canal), she dropped the drill in my mouth a minimum of 20 times. The entire procedure took close to 20 hours over several visits. I would not put cleanneon through that kind of hell.

Even better, I'm going to school at USP, right down the street from you. I'm gonna have to stay in touch. I don't even know you and I already trust you WAY more than my dentist who's been practicing for 25 years.

Yeah, some of those dentists out there ... I am not too sure about.

But be assured that at school we follow strict school policy and regulations when it comes to what works must be done. We do what is best for the patient and we will explain to you exactly what we are going to do. My number is on the first post, I am here for 2 more years. Just let me know!

Daniel

(PS: For your case you could possibly have a case of malpractice. They need your consent in order to start a procedure, and looks like they are not following ADA guidlines very closely ... If you really want to go through with it, I would contact a lawyer and try to get at least compensation)

I don't have dental insurance either and I'm sure my teeth are messed up, how much to just get a checkup and breakdown of the work I am going to need? Also how long of a wait is there usually for appointments? Thanks.

Hey, your GF and I are in the same clinic group! I bet she already mentioned that. We randomly talked about it in the lab. But anyway, looking forward to seeing you at one of the meets (once I get my car looking decent).

And to any of you who do not make much income (or if you are a student with zero income), you can qualify for a program which covers the fee for diagnostic x-rays and exam. It will also cover any EXTRACTIONS of problematic teeth. But thats it. So it can save you around 80 dollars for the x-rays and such, giving the means to put more into fillings/etc.

I may take him up on it. I probably have the worst teeth on here:

I had about 7 root canals in the last 3 years. All my top front teeth are ceramic. I need about 10 more root canals or more. I haven't had dental ins for about 8 years. I wore a tongue ring for about 4 years and it destroyed my teeth.

At this point, what do I have to loose.
