My first music video!

Hi everyone, I excited to have just finished my first music video. As some of you may know my video work primarily involves wedding/events and occasionally commercial and corporate work.

At my own wedding this past February I ran into my cousin whom I haven’t seen in many years. Growing up I remember her always being involved with music with a particular affinity for piano. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she’s now a Contemporary Christian artist who just published her first album- available on iTunes and CDbaby (re: Caitlin Jane).

After I got a chance to actually listen to her album I was blown away. It sounded great, and she is extremely talented! We touched base after the wedding and threw some ideas around and decided to produce a music video for one of her newer songs entitled “Unborn”.

The song tackles the issue of teen pregnancy and abortion in loving, non-aggressive way. I was thrilled to be starting such a cool project and, as a Christian myself, to be part of something sending such a poignant message.

Thank you all for taking the time to watch and would appreciate any comments whether it be about the video itself or the message.

The video work itself was pretty good I'd say.

Thank you. Yes, as describe in my original post the artist is my cousin Caitlin. There are also cameos by my two of my nieces (little girl walking with mom, and the baby at the end) and my nephew (closeup of baby at the park).

let me know when she needs a website ;)

I'm most likely doing one for my cousin, who is relatively well known in the area and his friend... whom i don't know too much about, but i believe he too is known. I've got an interest in putting together some artist websites w/ a strong usage of video and images... due to my interest, pricing can be discussed privately... but i'm dying to get a number of artists (of various types) sites up and maybe eventually building a hub site for those types of websites built by me and my other cousin.

Scapegoat, do you have any samples online of your web design work?

i don't do design... my cousin does, and he's amazing. let me find out if he's ok with me sending you a sample of our current gig.

right now we've only got up an information medical site that we did for bustedujoint's company. it is, however, completely different than what we'd do for a musician's website

I would love to, to be honest. I sort of fell into the wedding/event field and it's hard to get out because it's become my main source of income. I went full time with it last October. I'm slowly doing more video work outside of weddings. My wife and I bought a car from MattBlatt last year and the owner appraised our trade. I made small talk with him about seeing his marketing (and TV commercials) all over. I casually mentioned I do video production, showed him some samples on my iPhone and ended up starting a business relationship right there. I'll be working on a new Comcast commercial for his Dealerships in early 2010. Almost all local commercials are appalling in quality.

I'd be 100% content with doing Commercial and Music Video production. It's less restrictive, more creative, and well...more fun!

Best of luck with the MattBlatt commercials. I interned at a company that did car commercials about 5 years ago and got to make one of my own (http://vimeo.com/999070). They are definitely good money and currently commercials are lacking in the "awesome" department (I cringe everytime a Cherry Hill Triplex commercial comes on). It'll be nice to actually see some skill and not just cookie cutter hard sell stuff.

Cool man- yeah if I want to get more into this type of stuff looks like I may have to finally learn After Effects or at least Motion. Btw, I loved your 700hp Shelby video- that thing is a monster, laying down strips at highways speeds! WOW! Btw, it looked like Magic Bullet Looks- "Blockbuster" on that footage, am I correct?

He posted it on the other thread. Camera is a Canon 5D MkII and he edits on Final Cut.

Thats pretty crazy that you can get results like that from a photography camera. Just a few years ago you would need something that weights 50lb and costs 100 grand.

Amen! That's why there has been such a HUGE boom in 5DmkII video production in the indy film crowd. They compare it agains the highly touted Red One camera! Even to be COMPARED to that is amazing!

Let me know- what's your background? What camera(s) do you use? Do you have your own company or shoot for others (if so, who?) PM me if you'd like. Thanks.
