Good drag strips

can anyone tell me if there are any drag strips in or near Bergen County, New Jersey. I want to see what my 1/4 mile time is.

Maple Grove>Atco>Etown
I haven't been to either jersey tracks. Maple Grove is out of the way for you but I think Atco might be the best one for you.

Wow, I was just looking at the englishtown website and they have so many rules. Is the whole legal drag racing thing as complex as I think it is or am I just being stupid?

I'm probably gonna spend more time on their road course though. has anyone tried it out?

Sadly the road course idea has been canned >.< to many regulation in jersey did not let it happen. Its been on thier site for 3 years now and they don't take it off. anyways the rules are more for people doing sub 8sec runs all you need is a helmet and a car. If you don't have a helmet you can rent one from them. Also do everyone a favor and make sure your car isn't releasing any fluids oil, coolant, etc. People get mad if they have to shut the lane down cuz some idot has an oil leak. Wednesdays are good days to go not to many people so you go thru tech faster, so more time for as many runs as you can fit in.

E-town is closer to sea level then atco. Atco is usually better because it is less populated..ISLAND OWNZ JOO!!

Englishtown is an overall prettier and well appointed facility maybe but for the average fast street car on a regular time trial/street night or day it's NOT a faster track. I've run almost a 2/10ths quicker ET and over 1.5mph in similar air conditions at Atco versus E-town in a few different cars.
And if you simply want a better sixty foot (critical for good ET) on street tires then Atco is the place.

I don't think it is, they're both very close but as far as I know E-town is roughly 80 feet above but Atco is like 33 feet I think.

I wouldn't say a lot better (and then there are the rumors that it leans slightly downhill ) but Cecil is a very fast track as well.
But this guy is asking about within Jersey...Cecil, MIR, Maple Grove are outside this state.

E-town and Island are likely closest to Bergen County but I would still make the trip to Atco (the next closest) if it were me.

Yeah but he lives in bergen county guys which is right across the river from NYC. I doubt he wants to drive all the way to atco to run. www.racewaypark.com is your best bet

E-town will be fine for some baseline runs. But Atco is definitely better, don't let the facilites at E-town fool you, Atco is a faster track. Cecil is right there with Atco, I've always run my best times at Atco, but I have yet to get down to Cecil in really good weather. I haven't raced at Maple Grove, I've heard it's good, but since they only have like three T&T's a year, I guess I'll never know. And Island sucks, not worth racing there if it was free. I've only raced at one track that was worse than Island, and that was in Jacksonville, NC, lil hick track that had more ripples than even Island. That's just my take on it, opinionis will always vary.

E-towns track is by far the nicest track in NJ. You might get better times at atco but have fun going thru the water box and staring at mulets. Cecil is very sticky which is not the best for under powered awd cars.
