73 ventura, sloppified... again and again 500whp

some of you might know this car from dyno days,

its my friends 70s ventura, it has a junkyard 350 in it, that we installed, made 250whp through a th350 auto trans, and then we installed a 200 shot on it, and it made 446rwhp...

me and my friend have been talking about putting in a LSX, preferably a 4.8l out of a truck, injecting it using the stock intake, bolting it to the th350 and turbo'ing the **** and cruising it and doing burnouts etc.

so we went to harrys and yanked this motor from a 99 1500

the plan was to use a ms1 for fuel injection, install a huge fuel pump, his stock 2010 truck injectors (42lb) and do the msd 6010 box for timing control...

yanked the motor out of the venty

now we have been working fast and slamming this project together, we just wanna get it done and do burnouts honestly...

i have a 60-1 turbonetics that has been sitting around, so we are gunna throw that on there for now with a wastegate i have laying around also.

like i said we have been hammering away and we only have like 2 weeks into this whole project and we are nearly ready to start it. here is a photo of the motor in and we were playing with the manifolds to see what stock manifolds would work best.

i had built a ms1 box earlier this year and just had it sitting around for soemthing like this, fired it up and burned it in and set it up for the ventura.

looks like everything is in order

started cutting up the truck harness and getting it ready for the ms1 harness i have only using what i need etc

me and corey working on it in the rain, blowing a hole in the firewall and using a water bottle for a gromet

we installed the waterpump last night and i finished wiring the engine bay for fuel injection, we have to wire in the fuel pump (bosch 044) and run some relays, fill her with oil and dry fire it tomorrow if all goes well...

then we were going to start on the turbo kit. and really hack that together quick like 1 day turbo kit. non intercooled.

we will let you know how we do haha.

You know what I love about all your builds, you don't let anything stop you guys. You're like lets take this car, throw an engine from this thing, wire this **** in,slap a turbo on it,and rip that bitch til it dies.

they are like 150 bux, you build them with your hands and a soldering iron and some instructions.

you can build your own harness too, but i usually buy the 14 inch pigtail harness and then just connect what i need.

yeah you can run the car with just a tach input and the on board map, but coolant temp is needed for the warm up enrichments and for it to trim based on temp. and tps will be needed for acceleration enrichments.

on top of that, IAT, knock, wideband and all that stuff are not needed but sure are nice.

You're build threads always impress me. You take what other people would consider junk, and then throw a turbo on it.

rad is in, fan is wired working, top coolant hose is done.

car keys and fires right up and idles smooth, gotta get some coolant in it and loop the heater hoses...

everything is wired and fused right for now, car revs smooth and motor sounds great, maybe only one bad if its bad at all, slight tiny tiny tick up top, we are going to start on the turbo kit already tomorrow hopefully have it done for out dyno day car for sunday
