Scrapping Copper

To all those scrappers out there I need some help.

I have a mixed assortment of copper I am going to scrap. Some can be stripped and some can't. As most people, I'm trying to get the most money I can. I have a decent amount of telephone type wire wrapped in the plastic tubes they come and some that are wrapped in insulation. Is there any price difference if I strip the plastic wrapping/insulation off compared to if i don't?

Anyone happen to know some recent prices? None of my stuff is burned either.

cat6 is newer... i don't think it'd be worth scrapping it as it would be worth selling it on ebay. i wish i knew you had cat6 before i went and bought 500ft of it myself

I've just noticed that some of my telephone wire has a silver looking copper. Will they not take that or is it classified as something else?

That little phone wire and computer communication wire is not worth much but worth more than throwing away. We filled a pickup truck with it and made about 100 bucks. I have more to scrap here soon so I will let you know how much. Now the 6-8gauge wire is a $.75 difference stripped to not stripped.

The communications wire is prolly what, 0.50 per pound? At least i think it was a few or two ago. haha. I take it the 6-8 gauge wire is the stuff used for electric in housing?
