S-Chassis Nostalgia (How To Lose Friends And Alienate People)

Sorry to leave people out, I would like to see a thread like this for other "popular" cars, ESPECIALLY civics. I always liked reading articles on FWD civic drag pioneers.

BUT...

This thread is for the true OG S-chassis people. Enjuku posted up a pic of his drag S13 and it really got me tripping down memory lane...

I would like the people that have aquired thier S-chassis BEFORE all the hype, before they had a honda and switched over, before Tokyo drift, before Formula D, D1, Red Bullcrap, even before Initial D was big in the states.

Now I don't really conscider myself a true OG, more like a Jr. OG. I wanted a 240 since I was 11 or 12, When the S14 came out it was my achievable "dream car".

Post pictures of when you first got your car, sunk wheels and all...Horrible body kits, gay wings, full of that 90's and for some of you fossils 80's styling flavor.

Please if you are brand new, PLEASE dont ruin the thread with a brand new pic. I wanna see scanned grainy photos!

TRUE, ORIGINAL S-CHASSIS LOVERS...

Have at it...

Ill post my older pics when I get home just to start. Im still kinda new (5+ year owner going on 6)

I remember riding in an S14 for the first time back in 1999. I thought it was so cool and was such a sports car. I wanted to **** the girl who owned it just because she owned it. I think that's when I realized I wanted one. I ended getting an S13 5 years later. I have some pics of when I frist got it but I'll have to wait until I get home to get them.

Your face is wack...

Its hot on Zilvia.

My uncle was a dealer, and when he would come visit my family he would always drive a different car, mostly Merc, BMW etc. One weekend he drove a S13 coupe, and I sat in the drivers seat...and wanted it. This was lik '90.

A few years later in 95 I saw the S14 on the street. Brand new...and I changed my mind. From then I wanted my first car to be a S14.

I didnt get one as my first car but in 04 I was able to trade my pretty much built from inside out car for a stock 95 with chopped springs plus cash. My friends thought I was crazy, my brother threatened not to talk to me.

Technically the 2nd owner since the guy I got it from never registered. He only had it for a week.

'04 doing my first SR swap.

i'll have to scan one from 04ish..

it was my brother's car that turned into a group project, a beat s13 hatch.

the first car we ever boosted, we really had no idea what we were doing, but that started my love for the KA.

i have an old photo of the car with no front body work, and the fmic all mocked up hanging in my garage as a reminder of the old days.

eehh...I don't really meet deadline... I bought my s14 for my 21st birthday
lol but I didn't even get my car due to the fad of 240's growing. I just needed a car and fell in love with it when I saw it!

Awesome pics and hope to see more!

the 240sx was my first car at 16, before the scene blew the **** up with D1 in the states, F&F Dorifto yO! and all that. but im 22 now... i remember looking at all the fwd cars my friends were getting, and for some reason they never appealed to me as much as a rwd car. I got hella excited when i started reading up on the 240sx when i was looking for a car...rwd, 50/50 weight distribution, aftermarket support...i knew i had to have one, so i ended up getting a 91 hatch for $2,000 and proceeded to blow all my paychecks on that car when i was working my first job at like $7 bucks an hour LOL (this is funny as hell to me when i think back about it, what a waste of money hahahaha)

But i knew I wanted to have suspension and brakes before power, so i went with all the footworks- coilovers, rucas, tie, toe rods, subframe bushings, and z32 brakes all around w/ 5lug, b&m ss, with plans to go FI after that...I obtained 2 more 240's (89 & 90) in the timespan i had the car(about 2002 till 2005) and parted them out to buy more **** with, but ended up crashing the **** out of my 91 a couple times...rwd/no traction control isn't the smartest choice as a first car, especially in the snow and being a dumbass lol

It was good timing though, cuz I hadn't installed everything I had gotten, and ended up selling most of the **** just as i started recognizing this car was gonna start becoming as popular as civics...i dunno, it just kinda turned me off after the F&F movie pretty much, so i got rid of everything and ended up picking up a s2k instead...like a 240 still, just more modern i guess. I still give the 240sx mad respect though, cuz it's a helluva tuner car when done right. myself personally though - too much work to get it right and still maintain DD so it was the right choice for me to part with it.

I posted on Zilvia so I'm gonna just copy and paste it.

Bought my first coupe on 8-20-2002. I found the original date because I posted on Zilvia when I got it.

I'm sure I have pictures somewhere, just have to find one. I wanted one since 01 but didn't have my license. Was given a car when I got my license but eventually got rid of that and bought a 89 240sx with 108k miles and a nice blue paint job. The chassis was pretty rusted so I got another non-rusted coupe about two years ago.

So i have only had 2 chassis' but I've since rebuilt that original SOHC engine and turboed it and it is still being used every day.
