Many new goodies....

I haven't been around much, haven't been to any meets and haven't really posted much on my car. Since I am a pretty busy guy you know. Anyway..I have many works in progress that some of you may have heard about or not.

Again, all of this is still a work in progress and all the projects still have work needed to be done.

First. Autovizion HID with McCollouch 8000K bulbs

A picture of the ballast.

From the front.

Next Up... Battery Relocation. I used 1 gauge wire from the engine bay back. I connected that to the two stock positive wires using a Stinger Fused distribution block.

Stinger Distribution Block

I made some brackets and welded them to my trunk floor for a battery tie down.

Next up...Custom tie bie and custom rear strut tower bar and sway bar

Nismo Rear Sway Bar

My Boss gave me some metal and I started fabbing. It still has to be grinded down and painted so..

Rear Strut Tower Bar

Front Lower Tie Bar (not the best picture) (will eventually get more parts added)

Next up..M3 Styled Lip Spoiler

Very nice! I started working on my battery relocation today, too. I ended up drilling a hole in the firewall and spending way too much time wrapping the 2 gauge wire with wire loom, rubber hose (through the firewall) and clamping down the wire from both inside the engine bay and the cabin.

I'll pull the seats out tomorrow and use tie wraps every 4"-6" so that the wire doesn't move and then tuck them under the rugs.

Still not sure how I'm going to tie the battery box down.... Maybe I'll just bolt it to the floor....

Yeah between the blue brightness of the HID's and my bright yellow fogs, I am like a light show coming donw the road. They look amazing though.

Securing my 1 gauge is another thing on the list. I kinda just lied it under the carpet. I have a ton of work to do to get myc ar ready for the spring, hopefully it gets warm again.

Looks good. Was the HID kit a drop in or did you retrofit projectors from a different car? I remember seeing an RSX at the old Red Robin meets who just bought balists and HID bulbs and it worked fine. I like to do it to my car. My stock head lights are kinda weak and I don't feel like sheeling out 1,500 for some C-West lights.

Yeah mine are just a replacement bulb with a ballast plugs right into the stock harness. $250 shipped.

Battery relocation is done because nobody said the battery has to be in the engine bay, that and moving 30lbs to the rear helps with weight distribution. All the cool people are doing it

Unlike your car, our cars are a bit cramped in the engine bay so getting rid of the battery and putting it in the trunk helps clear the clutter a little.

Also, it helps balance the car a bit getting it closer to the ideal 50/50 split where the car weighs equally front and back. A well balanced car is easier to control around turns during breaking and acceleration.

Got ya guys, I just thought it made sense to keep it up front over the tires. I actually have a tray to mount another battery up front, so much room lol.

the HIDs and fogs look good (8000K is way too blue for my tastes but they do look pretty lol), not feeling that rubber strip in the middle of the trunk lid though....seems like it should be along the trailing edge at the back of the trunk in order to be a trunk lid lip spoiler thingy

the battery relocatin is a good idea and I def. felt the difference at the autox course as for your method of mounting the battery in the rear......you need a battery box with a vent tube around the battery in order to pass ANY tech inspections.....your best bet would be to ditch that POS wet cell battery and just go pick up a gel cell optima or some other brand of gel cell battery. that way you never have to worry about noxious gasses leaking into the cabin of the car (which will happen) and you don't have to worry about getting acid all of your trunk....its the safest setup with a gel cell

not sure if you read the threads on b15 a while back about the rear "strut tower bar" but there's no way to make a functional rear strut tower bar on the b15 chassis b/c of the placement of the tops mounts of the rear dampers.....your setup there isn't a bad idea if you're doing it for structural rigidity purposes (bracing that big ass hole in the chassis lol) but it definitely isn't going to prevent that rear struts from flexing under loads (which they really don't do all that much anyway b/c of the rigid torsional beam rear suspension setup on those cars

your HIDs should have come with the ignitor as well....that box you showed in the picture is the balast box, one of those harnesses coming out of there should go to the ignitor and then from the ignitor to the bulbs themselves. the entire kit should look like this

Daniel

I suppose cars built just for drag racing want to keep as much of the weight up front as possible.

My car wasn't put together to be a purpose built dragster, albeit, that is the only thing I can really get into at this point.

daniel - i think if you saw it from a different angle it would grow on you - this is a similar kind of spoiler that mike had on his RS... it looked cool - but better if you stepped back and saw the whole car...

looking good!

Late,
Daniel

They did come with all of the above The other part is just hidden and wasn't really worth my time to try and take a picture.

As for the battery in the trunk. Funds are low but I do plan on switching batterys and I had a battery box but I broke it so another is also on the way.

I know all about the rear strut bar.

The lip spoiler isn't rubber its actually like a plastic, granted I didn't take a very good picture of it, I think you would have a different opinion of it if you saw it in person like Ash said.

As I said all the above is all a work in progess. I am hardly done any apsect of the above.

Dan do you remember me? We have meet before, but I don'tknow if you remember me. Do you remember the ride home from the NJ meet with me you and the Burwells, that ride was insane.
