2010 Turbo Sport Compact Shootout @ Beaver Springs Dragway (East Coast Evo vs. STi)

Featuring all day drag racing, a sport compact show, and much much more. Trophies and cash payouts awarded in various classes. NHRA Rules apply. Free giveaways and entertainment; including the 2010 East Coast Evo/STi shootout.

Our Experience:
We went to this event last year and had a blast! It was approx. $35 to run your car all day and the track conditions were ideal. It was decent because if you didn't want to run your car, they had sort of an informal car show in the parking lot adjacent to the track and ppl just checked out everone's rides. Not to mention, it's a nice drive on some excellent roads. I'm told that this year there will be an actual car show adjacent to the track, hopefully that will attract more cars.

If we could find enough participation from Central PA, we could get a group together and all roll up together. Trust me, it's a blast!

Even though the flyer says "open to all turbocharged sport compacts" you can run any type of car (or truck) you have.... na/turbo/blown/diesel...doesn't matter. Last year there was a lady in an F-350 dually running against a soccer-mom in a Tahoe. You wanna put your moms Kia up against Busur's 9-sec. Evo? You can...LOL

SATURDAY - May 22nd

10:00 Gates Open - 11:00 Time Trials - 1:00 Racing

Spectators: $10 each

Race entry fee: $28

CLASSES:

Top Turbo: 8 low ET qualifiers (4 EVO vs. 4 STi)
Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards.
This eliminator is restricted to EVO's and STi's only.
Reason: It's the sponsors area of interest. Plus it's the biggest rivals.

Wildcard 8: 8 cars closest in ET. Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards

Hot Street: Top half of the field, handicap dial in. Trophies and awards

Cool Street: Lower half of the field, handicap dial in. Trophies and awards

Exhibition: Real race cars, or any car that is not street legal, heads up first to the finish. Cash awards

All competitors must be street legal: Licensed, inspected and mufflers. Any tire is permitted. Any car not meeting these rules will run in exhibition.

We're keeping it all pretty simple. Sort of like a big Friday Night Street event, but just for Turbocharged Sport Compact entries.

doesnt seem to be must interest...I know of some other events going on....but this would be something for the more local people and for everyone that went last year.

I'll be there, but sadly only spectating, I was planning on running and really looking forward to it, but didn't get a clutch in time (last evo vs. sti day clutch started to take a sh*t)

yea I just can't p*ssy foot it off the line haha, been drag racing for too long, it's just not natural for me haha, I honestly think if it wasnt for that damn clutch I mighta had a repeat win back in March @ etown, but whatdayado...that and the -.008 redlight didn't help haha

It's because of the track...Etown or Atco are better located.
