we saw it, it does look sketchy and is probably some sort of automated spammer but i wasn't able to find anything that was 100% on that, so until they spam links or whatever i figured i'd let it go in case i was banning any real people by accident. ...but yeah, fishy.

Expanding on what Bryan said, you've got good eyes. However, in the future, it might be better to report their posts as opposed to making a thread and putting them on blast. That way, just in case they are not spammers, there will be no negativity denoted towards them. But, like I said, good catch.

we have some things in place to block certain types of spam posts so they are either trying to work around that by slowplaying it and would add links later, or they may have attempted to post something here that was caught by the forum and blocked.

spam isn't always being done by computers.
a person can make decent money in a ****ty country sitting at a desk w/ a computer and posting on forums. its cheaper to have them do that than to have programs written to get past some of the smarter captcha services. it is very likely they have a number of similar scripts in place that they copy and paste, instead of writing them out and sounding like an asshole b/c they don't know english very well |
