Everyones blowing out 08 cbr1000s

everyone is blowing these bikes out. i can get one brand new for 6999 plus 2500 bonus bucks (in store credit for the same day they are advertising). good deal right?

i have only been riding for three months, 95 zx6 with a jet kit and sprocket kit. im getting tired of it, want a new bike. no more carbration. this is like a huge leap, to big of a leap? everyone said i was crazy for boosting my nissan right away.. i like to take things slow.. nissan is still together.

advice?

Give state farm a call, i priced around ALL of the major companies, and state farm was the cheapest by far.
Plus they had the biggest discount when i turned 25.

Might help the insurance if you get your license first. If you can take a course that also drops your insurance rate.

older 600 and newer 600's are very different to me at least. i had a 95 zx6 and rode a friends 07 600. i kinda scared myself under estimating it. now i have a cbr 900 and want to go to the r1. my friend who has the r1 keeps askin me if i think im ready in a question my ability type of way. havent rode a newer 1k but id assume they are very different as well with being twerky with a careless wrist. been riding for a few years now and i think id be happy with a new 600.

I will never go 1000cc for a street bike. Too much power and will instantly get you into trouble. The newer (2001+)600s are doing low 11s stock, how much power do you really need.

Go for the 636 man! Way cheaper. You can own the bike and lower the insurance by dropping unneeded coverage off.

I just got one. '05 636. 2300 Miles on it. $4200. I am also 22 with a permit on my own Progressive plan paying $265/year.

And the 05-06 636 will still do mid 10's @ 130! You don't need anything faster than that for the street IMO!

+1 for state farm. Quoted me $40 cheaper a month than any other company. Getting ur license doesn't make ur insurance drop with state farm or nationwide. Not sure about other companies

hondas selling them cheap cause they realized the bike looks like it has down syndrome.... the repsol hides it nicely but still fugly

i miss my 636 alot it was the perfect bike but i also loved my zx10 and my ducati

1k's are great if you do any two up riding and nice cause you don't have to rev the piss out of them to go anywhere

like i tell everyone eles the only diffrence between a 600 and a 1k is the line between life and death.. with a 600 you have plenty of area to screw up and ride away from .. 1000's have hardly any room for error .. i was mid turn on the duc and rolled on a lil too much and it started to lift the front wheel not a big proplem by it self but then the cold ground let the rear tire slip .. that was fun

insurance .. statefarm non better

I don't really have to rev the crap out of my 600 when my g/f on the back. 1000 CC's are like Porsche's, compensate for small penis. Its just too much bike, you can't use the power, cause your 100+ instantly or you lift the bike, they don't handle 1/2 as good as a 600, and insurance is retarded cause they all get wrecked.

I'm not hating on the 1000, but aside from bragging rights, which don't matter when you squid, they aren't that much fun.

let me rephrase that then ..

when i had a passenger on my 636 i knew i had someone on there .. on my zx10 with the same passenger it was like they were not there .. same with the duc

i will fully admit that liter bikes are too much for the street .. but so are 600's .. look at 1/4 mile times for both 600's and 1000's .. just about identical

have you ever ridin a liter bike ? after about 2 years of riding my zx10 i rode my friends 05 636 and it just did not want to get out of its own way .. i was used to the riding style of the 10 where you had the power to just ride off any gear any rpm .. same with on longer cruise's which i hate doing but a long distance ride on the 6 buzzed me out granted i was 3 up on the rear but that shouldn't of made a huge difference .. the 10 however .. 6th gear 60mph at like 4k

while i'll agree that for some people its all about mine is bigger then yours ( my one cylinder is bigger then your bike ) my 1198 would have ran circles around my 636 ... there only 100+ wheelie machines if you tell them to be i did more 100+ wheelies on my 636 then i ever did on my ten or duc

it all comes down to the rider ..
