99 contour svt #2219

Had a thread a while back in the newbie section. Figured since its a new to me car I would start a new thread for the new svt.

Back in October I traded My satin black 98 contour svt for a 99 stock svt that was in need of a suspension and brake overhaul and a 00 contour svt that was tboned in the pass rear quarter. Also got $2600 on top of the deal. Since then Ive parted out the wrecked car for over $1600 and still have about $400 in parts left. And just finished up the suspension and brake overhaul on the green car last night.

The car I traded away.

And got these in trade.

A few pics of the parting out process.

I took all the suspension and brake parts off the parts car and rebuilt them. Including reinforced rear subframe with home made sway bar mounts. custom swaybar links, homemade adjustable rear toe bars. Poly filled motor mounts, poly bushings everywhere I could. A set of used koni struts with ground control coilovers. Rebuild the calipers, cleaned them up and painted with G2 caliper paint kit, new pads and rotors. Sounds about right for now.

The plan now is to get an alignment then get the new tires put on the focus eap wheels then I can get it inspected. After that then I will start on the appearance which will be simillar to the satin black car but green.(mesh, mirko splitter, paint matched grill, eyelids).

And a before pic the night before all parts went in.

Pics of it with the finished suspension and brakes. After alignment and inspection Ill be putting on 1/4" spacers then in spring it will prob be getting droped a little more.

That black Contour was pretty rad. Good luck with the new project.
