having owned 2 vw's i feel that they are a hit or a miss. You either get one that if you treat it right and keep up with matenience will last you a while or you can get one that everything seems to go wrong. Granted the dealership could have been more straight up and they could have fixed the problem but buying any car can turn bad.

If the red one is at a VW dealer then go with that one. Trust me its worth it, if you bought the car from them they will bend over backwards with service where they normally wouldn't. I have a perspnal experience with that, although not with VW.

Dealers are not always the answer. You can't leave out the specialty shops. I work at a Subaru specialty shop and we have soooo many repeat customers that go out of their way to give stellar online reviews and tell everyone they know about us.
Also, Dealers are hurting bad right now. I run the service dept. I am hearing more and more stories of dealers getting greedy and pulling some pretty shady stuff. I just had a lady in that bought a 04 Forester from a dealer in northern pa, and the vehicle had the worst torque bind I have ever experienced in a Subaru and the dealer told her 4 times that this is normal. We remedied it for less than $400. |
