Tonight on Spike TV, (check your local listings) at 11pm Eastern, they will be showing the second week of the playoffs. Last week Spike started showing the playoffs to see if it will get good ratings for rugby. Next year the US will be getting a professional rugby league and Spike wants to see how it will do with the ratings. So that is why they are showing this years playoffs until the leagues championship game on October 4th. This is equivalent to our Super Bowl. Philadelphia will be getting a team if everything works out. So if you are a rugby fan and like seeing big hits, blood, fights, and non stop action this is the league for you.

Football fans across the United States get the chance to see Football ‘Aussie style’ tonight with the premiere of Australia’s National Rugby League play-off series at 11pm on Spike TV.

It’s just like American Football but without the time-outs, without the pads, and without helmets. The 26 players on the field rip and tear into each other non-stop for 80 minutes of pulsating action in one the toughest, fastest, and most exciting sports played anywhere in the world.

The play-off will air at 11pm over the next three Friday nights in the lead up the Australian Grand Final (Super Bowl) which will air on Spike at 11am (Eastern) on Sunday October 4.

The American National Rugby League is the governing body for the development of the sport of rugby league in the USA, and member of the Rugby League International Federation. The AMNRL competition is comprised of eleven clubs spanning from Boston, MA to Jacksonville, FL. The 2009 AMNRL National Championship was won by the New York Knights who defeated the Jacksonville Axemen in a thrilling event hosted in Manhattan this past August.

Rugby League has developed an extensive footprint in the USA through the efforts of the AMNRL with developing programs in the Midwest, West and Hawaii along with youth programs presented in non contact - flag format known as “EAGLETAG”.

size doesnt mean anything dude. ive seen people smaller then you play in a league around here.

yeah it does... when you can't out run the big guys it means a lot

i'm not a fast runner and my cardio sucks still... i probably wouldn't make it through a 1/4 of the game and would more than likely be knocked out with my first hit

my ex played rugby and those chicks would probably murder me. i saw one Harrisburg men's game when i was considering getting into it and changed my mind. maybe in a few years when i've got more time at the gym and have worked on my cardio and running speed

haha i hear you if you cant be out there moving all the time. my gf tells me i should play and ive been thinking about it.

everyone, this comes on again next friday at 11 again. last night one team was sponsored by subaru for all the suby drivers. their colors are wrb and yellow.
