bike hesitate 4-5k

Is it worth sea foaming my 01 GSXR? I don't think the previous owner took good care of it and I can't seem to figure out why it is hesitating between 4-5k RPM.

Advice or things to check.

I did new plugs so far.

has it always done this (since you have had it) or have you changed anything ? filter / exhaust ?

thats around where the epa checks a new bikes emissions (factory) so they usually run them very lean there which will cause stumbling

It has a Yoshimera slip from when I got it. It did this since I bought it in April. I seafoamed the gas to see if maybe its a clogged injector.

have to get a power commander or similar device .. only way around it .. this area is run lean for emissions purposes and the exhaust just makes it feel worse then before .. shoulda felt the duc before i got the new ecu and a tune

If I go back to stop pipe, will it eliminate the issue? I've got no problem with that until I feel the urge to get the power commander and then learn to tune it.

Don't want to spend $400 just to tune a stock bike with a muffler lol. I've read that they do lean out too much, but I can't see how an ECU can't compensate for the little difference in air flow.

the ecu isn't as smart as a cars .. they call them electronic carb's

not many sensors .. not to mention they make the bike run lean there anyway .. so even if it could correct for a/f ratio it still going to run lean

and the power commander is under 300$ and revtech has something like it for 170$ kneedraggers.com

the biggest gains you get are while using a powercommander on a stock bike .. pipes don't add much hp if any at all .. you get the power from a proper a/f ratio

bikes generally run stupid lean low rpms and stupid rich high rpms .. the aftermarket exhaust will lean it out a bit wich sucks even more at low rpm but gets you closer to a good a/f ratio at higher rpms

either man up and spend the small amount of money or live with the choppy throttle check ebay
