does anyone know of a place to get an att phone unlocked in or near levittown? its an lg vu i left my charger for my tmobile phone in seaside so its a good time to get the phone ive been hating replaced with the lg vu ive been wanting for awhile and a buddy has one for 30$ with case and charger in great shape but before i take the plunge i want to try and find a STORE to get it done at

stores cannot unlock phones. you have to call the customer service line to get the phone unlocked. and if your are not a customer they will not unlock the phone, example you are a tmobile customer calling ATT to unlock a phone, they will not unlock it because you do not have an ATT account.

the store will only help you walk through the complicated steps to unlock the phone, but the call centers do that any way so going to a store really wont help you. so your buddy who probably has ATT will have to call and get the PHONE specific code(if goes off the phones serial number also known as IMEI)

Most phones have to be "software" unlocked which alters the firmware that is how you can truely unlock a phone.

yea i found the steps to get the phone unlocked and he has the lg vu left from before he switched and some say att gives you the number regardless of what your on and sometimes wont give you the number period no matter if your with them but you need a att simcard but doesnt have to be active so im bidding on an old card. i know some accessory places do it and was hoping to find one.

hey guys if your on att can you do me a favor? if i shoot you the imei number can you call att and get me the code? if you get me it and i go through the steps to unlock it(i have a sim card on the way from ebay) when i get it and get through the steps and it unlocks i will shoot a few bucks through paypal if you want
