Hello Everyone

Following protocol, I wanted to introduce myself and just say 'hi'. I just purchased an Integra, so I decided to join up some forums and learn some stuff. This is my first venture in the Honda world, though I have been interested in it for a while.

I have a 97 GS Sedan in pretty good shape, with only 78K on the clock. Plans for it are nothing wild, just a sharp, clean, reliable daily driver with around 200hp that rides on rails and looks nice. Minor JDM influence, but no all-out conversion or anything. I'm really looking forward to meeting and working with some of the reputable vendors on here to build the car right. It is a classic car, and I plan to have it for a long time.

First up on the agenda:

- Window Tint [should drastically improve the look and help deter thefts]
- Quality alarm system w/ impact sensor and remote pager alarm [obviously]
- Quality aftermarket headunit
- replace interior speakers (maybe, haven't really evaluated the OE ones yet)
- amp kit wiring (for future installation of owned audio equipment)

I'd be looking to get all this done in one fell swoop at one shop. I have a couple prospective shops in mind, but I'm open to any suggestions from any other vendors as well. Repuation, location and $$$$ will be the determining factors.

And naturally, if any members have any nice DB7 integra parts they are looking to get rid of, PM me.

Thanks. Looking forward to meeting and talking to everyone. Peace.

Welcome aboard. As far as window tinting, I recommend SOG (Shades Of Grey). They are a vendor on here. Post up some pics of your car when you can.

welcome.. good luck with your window tint... i got pulled over and had to get it taken off. and as for thieves i thought it attracted them more cause it looks like you HAVE stuff to hide, and theyll be getting closer up to look at it... idk just my 2 cents again welcome aboard

yeah, SOG is kindof far away from me, and they wouldn't do my alarm system, so...

meh, its kindof hard to mess up a tint. I'd be okay if I had to use the 2nd best tint shop. Unless SOG is dramatically cheaper.

I had tint on my last car. Never had a problem for 2 years. Then suddenly, I got 2 or 3 citations from Cops in Havertown and Rosemont. I got the fronts redone @ 35 and wasn't hassled in the year or so after... even when a Havertown sargeant pulled me over for a warning on a stop sign, and didn't even mention my tint.

I'd rather have thieves "think" I have stuff to hide, than actually just be able to see stuff sitting there clear as day. Plus, if the windows are tinted, thieves are less likely to approach in the first place, since they don't know if anyone is actually in the car. we could go back and forth, but Statistics show tinted cars have less trouble with breakins/thefts.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

+1 for SOG tint. I also agree with 215EK, i always thought tint attracted thieves, because it looks like you are hiding something.

Hell, my cousin had a bone stock Civic with 5%, and came out to a smashed window one morning..They probably thought he was hiding a nice HU or a system.

Anyway..welcome and good luck with the new ride.

the best way to avoid thieves with or without tint, is to just not put your car in sketchy situations, etc. even tho sometimes it happens when youd never expect it.
like when yours automatic civic gets stolen from twin oaks in levittown
so were both right! haha
