Oh darn, I get my pictures printed there. Maybe they'll have a nice flash on sale. I desperately need a better one.

This is not really surprising.I worked for them as one of my jobs while I was in college. Over those 4-5 years pretty much every store saw a steady decline in merchandise and photo finishing (printing) sales. Internet sales and printing are hitting them hard and Ritz wasn't really bringing anything to the table to keep some of their customers in the store. When I was there ritzcamera.com had lower prices than the store, but we couldn't match their prices!

Eventually this will lead to Ritz having maybe a few stores, but the majority of their presence will be virtual.

Actually I can confirm it is 400 out of 800 stores. I worked at newtown until getting laid off today.

At the closing stores there will be mainly like 15-20% off of clearance items, cameras (i imagine not the DSLRs, but it is possible), pretty much all stock will be discounted. Check that **** out.

At the same time, ritz is over priced, so it might just end up evening out with everyone else.

Newtown will still be there. And they do really nice processing. Even though I hate those f*ckers, I will still get **** printed there.
