Paintball Re-enactment - Normandy (every July)

I've seen paintball get togethers mentioned on the site. Anybody like re-enactments? A popular place here in the Poconos is Skirmish. Looks like they will get some TV exposure:

Travel Channel to highlight Poconos' Skirmish as 'manly' vacation.

Skirmish Paintball’s “Invasion of Normandy” game has been selected as one of the most “Manly Man Adventure Vacations” by the Travel Channel and will be featured as part of their “21” series airing on their network Thursday, March 5, at 8 p.m.
Skirmish’s “Invasion of Normandy” scenario is hosted every July and re-creates the fateful landing of Allied troops on the German held beaches of Normandy.

I was at the very first one.

Dont bother going out to play at night. All the old men are out in the woods with night vision. Not fun at all lol.

my brother was planning on going to Skirmish last year. he didn't end up going but i know he still wants to. sounds like fun, but i think i'd get real frustrated with the hardcore people (i.e. nightvision, like mentioned above)

Yea, night vision and the guys who pack a gillie suit and can literally sit in a bush for 4 hours just to fire one round at your face out of no where.

Wow.

That's intense.

I've never been paint balling "professionally" before; but I think that'd be a lifetime thing!

yea as aaron stated, its a lot of fun but at night, if you don't have $5000 worth of gear on you, its just a noob shooting gallery. thats why you just run through the woods and shoot who ever you see. 90% of the time, when you take cover, ask someone what team their on, they lie and you end up shot anyway....so between the guys who take it WAYYYY to seriously and the aholes who lie about their team, i found its better to just try going rambo on everyone....there's a couple thousand people so that should keep you busy for a while...

I tried woodsball, but I prefer speedball.

This does sound like a cool idea though. If I didn't sell my DM5 and all of my equipment, I would be down for this.
