Evolution or Creation? Which do you believe in?

Just curious to see what everybody believes in on here..

Even though I'm Catholic, I firmly believe in Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

Anyway, discuss.

Not believing in evolution is like not believing in gravity.

Not always.

This is just a good subject that has equal arguments, so I was curious to see how people would respond to it.

I go from good to bad I guess.

And by bad, I mean that I don't conform myself to every single view the church has. IMHO, some of it's beliefs are pretty stupid, so I take a more modern approach to things.

I agree. It doesn't sound like you're much of a Catholic at all.

Lets stay on topic here folks. This thread wasn't created to bash me on my faith and how I practice it.

The passages of the bible are stories, whether they're true or not is up to you to believe, either way it's like most stories that you read, they're exaggerated/glorified. I'm not what you what would consider a religious person.

I'm a God fearing catholic but evolution is obviously what really happen.

I'm religious but the curious person that I am I believe otherwise. It's a unintended 'symbolism" for life. Religion was just something that gave people hope in the rough times of life for about 2 centuries. It's kinda a shame to see religion slowly dying but the world's present day evolution is to blame I believe.

so are you a practicing catholic? i'd assume not because telling the church that you don't believe in creationism would doom you to hell based on their beliefs wouldn't it? calling yourself a catholic and saying you believe in evolution can't go hand in hand as far as im concerned

Just because a person has a selected faith they believe in doesn't mean that that person conforms to everything subjected to them.

Lets be honest here- who actually believes every single word and believe that the church (of any faith) is feeding them?

I choose to practice my faith by the spirit of the law, not the letter.

Who are you people to say otherwise to me?
