What gauges do you use?

So right now I have some simple Autometer boost guage. its a sport compII boost gauge that reads only 30in.hg/20psi. I will need one that reads at least 30in.Hg/25psi in the near future when Im chipped/bigger turbo. Im also looking for just something new. Im also looking to get some others(a/f,etc). recommendations?

what do you guys use, if you use them?

Depends if you're a street or track vehicle. For street use, a wide-band a/f gauge might be of some use. For track use, a water temp is a must, as would engine oil temp.

This is for street mainly, yet I have gone to the track before. Not a common thing though.

Boost, A/F oil pressure definitly for a street driven car.

Autometer Cobalts match the interior well too for your car.

Stewart Warner is great. I have one in the MSM, mounted perfectly in my air vent, and its pretty accurate, and was pretty cheap to boot. I hear they are great compared to other companies on the market. Backlight color almost perfectly matches the stock gauges as well.

If I decide to go with an A-pillar setup down the road, I will look into a wideband A/F and maybe an oil pressure gauge as well.

Backlight of gauge

Backlight of cluster

Only issue I have is that the 0 on the gauge doesn't light up, not really a big deal but still kind of annoying at times.

yeah Ill probably just move it to my A-pillar. mine is mounted elsewhere at the moment and i dont really like that, so Ill suck it up if they pelt me in the face if the airbags in my a-pillars go off :P

I mounted mine in the vent because I wanted the sleek look and didn't want to hinder visibility out of the car...plus without an a-pillar setup, the car doesn't look suspicious from the outside =P...now I just need to figure out how to hide my intercooler better. I've been to a few car shows since I got the car and people always glance in and then kinda turn towards the gauge with a "lolwut" expression on their face. It's a great spot for it I think, I've had a few people ask me if it was a stock gauge cause it just works so well in that spot and with the color layout. If someone makes one with a Mazdaspeed logo on it, I will buy that instead.

That seems like a lot of money..does that include the gauge and if so, what gauge is it? I would say get a boost gauge first, they are cheap and very useful. I've used mine to tune my MBC up and down, see what PSi I can hold, and its great for knowing if you have a vaccum leak or not. Easy to install too.

A buddy of mine has been working on the 1.8t GTIs for some time now and I'm sure he has a gauge and pillar mount he can sell you cheap...want me to find out for ya?

any other companies make a good wideband a/f gauge like aem. I would like the digital number readout and the led light readout

yeah that was/is the price/gauge. they make their own(i believe) perfect color match gauge for vw/audi

mine just vibrates and I would like one that color matches and would like the other ones to also if possible.

edit: wouldn't hurt to find out.

I got mine from them...it doesn't go IN the vent though and is mounted on top of my steering wheel. When I got mine they only made the vent one for other models and not our mk4's
