Going out to dinner my parents tonight and would like to go to a nice steakhouse in center city. We've already been to Morton's and fogo de chao (brazilian) so we would like to try something else.

Any suggestions?

My favorite steak house downtown is Smith & Wollensky, right on Rittenhouse Square, on the west side in the Rittenhouse Hotel. Pricey, but a very nice place and everything is excellent. http://www.smithandwollensky.com/loc...steakhouse.htm

Not that we can believe everything they say, but the Jan. 2009 Philadelphia magazine has a review of The 35 Best Steakhouses in Philly. The rankings seem reasonable to me, though there is room for difference of opinion, and I'll have to try all the highly rated ones I haven't tried yet.

capital grille was my favorite by far and ive never been to davio's but i have a friend who has been a waiter for several years there and says its amazing...
