How to install powersteering 1995 Honda Civic Hatch

What are the parts needed? Is it safe? Is it costly? Is it hard to install?

Power rack all the lines, reserivor, pump, bracket for pump idk if eg cross member is diff. The pulley if your car isn't 3 belt one, its not hard to do but time consuming there might be more parts I'm sure someone else will chime in.

youll need the ps rack, pump, hard lines and brackets, ps pressure switch connector and wiring, ps pump brackets for ur specific motor, reservoir, and hoses

saw this before:

Remove the front lower control arms from the steering rack. Disconnect the tie rods and disconnect the sway bar from the steering rack. Drop the steering rack. Run the hard lines down the driver's side from the rack area. Wire up the PS pressure switch. Install the PS reservoir bracket and reservoir. Run the hose to the hard line. Install the PS pump brackets and pump to the engine. Run the feed hose from the reservoir to the pump. Install the PS pressure hose from the pump to the metal hard line. Swap the mount from the non-PS rack to the new PS rack, reinstall the PS rack and connect the hard lines. Fill with fluid and check for leaks. Drive the car to an alignment shop immediately.

Don't do all that ^^^^^^ I have done it on my civic already. No need to drop any of that stuff. its pretty self explanatory on how to connect everything.... The only thing i don't understand is... What is the pressure switch for? I can't see it doing anything. Theres nothing electronic on the pump to cut-out pressure. Atleast on AC condensors there is a clutch

I'll probably deal with it for now. But I'll start looking for parts needed. This is something that I'm curios about doing. Thanks for the help.

i am not sure about this but does honda have manual racks? if so then i can see you doing everything stated above. if not you should have most of the parts there already. Follow along the lines to what jdm free said, his write up is pretty much right on point

yeah i would just deal with its only a single in not much weight up there and once you get moving your good, also make sure you got good tire pressure or it makes it ten times harder.

well if you want to spend some money, I have most of the hard lines needed for you to do it... I don't have everything but i have alot. You would need to find a pump and bracket and pressure line coming from the rack.. Which isn't hard. Depends on where you are located, i might be able to help you get it done for alot cheaper then you think.
